More Tax Dollars Being Wastefully Spent

Posted by on Monday, May 13, 2013, @, 10, pm in Politics | 0 comments

Please note: The following is my personal opinion and does not represent the opinion of any other individual, organization, business or Mohave County employee.  It is my opinion that I wrote on my own time with my own thoughts.

Today the Mohave County Board of Supervisors selected a new County Administrator (remember they changed the name from manager to administrator).  Out of 36 applicants, 2 were selected as finalists and out of them Mohave County’s current acting-administrator, Mike Hendrix, was chosen.  Congratulations are in order to Mr. Hendrix who rightfully deserves the job.

This blog is not about criticizing Mr. Hendrix.  I believe the board made a good choice in picking him over Mr. Clark; however, as a fiscal conservative Republican I must question why the Board even went through the process of ‘finding’ a new County Administrator if at the end of the day they were just going to go with the candidate they already had?

Why go through the trouble not to mention why spend the money on going out for bid for a new County Administrator when at the end of the day you all chose Hendrix?  I cannot find a law or state statute requiring you to go out for bid for the job.  Granted it looks good to do so.  I am sure hell would have been risen had you just given Hendrix the job over actually attempting to compile a list of other candidates.  However I still question why?  During the February board meeting it was estimated that the cost to do an Executive Search for a new Administrator would be around $9,000-$10,000.  So again I ask – why was $9-10,000 of tax payer money spent when at the end of the day we just gave the job to one of our own?

At the end of the day – what is done is done.  So I suppose it is one of those ‘eh, whatever.  It’s only $10 grand.’  Right?

Well anyway – once again congrats to Mr. Hendrix.

Would You Like Some Cheese With That Wine

Posted by on Friday, Apr 26, 2013, @, 10, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

Yesterday was Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Wine & Cheese event.  It was some good times with some awesome food!   I have to give credit to Gay Crews for hosting the event and for President Sue Donahue for putting it together (and for making the amazing cheesecake bites!  Yum!!  I’ll be making some and posting the recipe don’t you worry).

733825_10151459474867513_509640869_n

I don’t write much about my women’s club like I use too.  You all remember the days of SarahAHall.Com (known as Sarahmarkham.com back then) where I would rant and rave about it (usually for dramatic, I dislike Ms. Fremont reasons).   But the reason it doesn’t get too much front face on my blog now a days is simply because there’s nothing to say (except on meeting day when I go over who our speaker was) and that is a good thing.

We are moving to Shagrue’s next month on the first Tuesday of the month (at 11:30am in case you wish to come – cost is $16) which I am excited about!!  Not to diss on the Quality Inn (okay it’s dissing on them – sorry no way around it) the food at Shagrues I am sure will be 100% better.  Plus they have a bar there (not that I can drink and then go back to work but hey some people just tend to go where there is alcohol so maybe that means more members).

538019_602494533093945_392038927_n

Anyway the Wine & Cheese was well attended (well somewhat not like the entire city of Lake Havasu came out and partied with us ladies (and men) but you get my point).   It was a WINE & cheese event so obviously there was drinking.   Hey no one said you can’t have Republican and Alcohol in the same sentence.  There were some interesting characters there.  I won’t name names – well I suppose I could make this said person a character in my story but then this said person would actually have to play some sort of role in my life which they don’t so therefor no need to give said person a character name – but interesting conversations were had which maybe I just shouldn’t go into.  I mean Republicans are still suppose to be proper and conservative right (unless you’re me of course – I don’t really consider myself proper maybe stuck up but not proper).

Anyway I got home late last night to find my Kindle Fire had FINALLY arrived.   We signed up for a bank promotion about 5 months ago to get a Kindle Fire HD for free.  I’ll be doing a blog soon on the difference between Android and Apple and Kindle Fire vs Ipad.  It should be an interesting blog if you care about that type of stuff.

Anyway I best be going now before I say stuff I shouldn’t … not like that EVER happens but hey you know me …

Oh and to just add to people’s confusion (not that anybody asked) but yes I do consider myself a lesbian – I’m just married to a guy.  : )

I love confusing people with my sexuality …. haha!

Love ya all!

Why Do Good Things Happen to Bad People?

Posted by on Tuesday, Dec 11, 2012, @, 7, pm in Sarahs Rants | 1 comment

Or maybe it’s more like why do bad things happen to good people?

First off I wish to apologize in advance for any grammar or spelling errors contained in this blog.  I just got some acrylic nails put on and I am finding it hard to type and text.  I am not use to them.  Lol!  Been over a year since I had fake nails.   You all probably think I went and paid someone to put fake nails on me.  Well that was the plan but my hair took an unplanned 3+ hours to do on Sunday so Kryssi and I never did get around to getting our nails done.  But I wanted nails for Monday’s Women luncheon for some odd reason so I went to Walmart and bought a set for $5.  I just wanted them to last through the luncheon.  Lol!  I never thought they would last to be honest but here we are on day 2 and I still got them.   Even after going down to the cemetery and helping Buster put in wreaths for the fallen veterans.

Yes I dyed my hair a dark brown/red (almost purple) color.  I wanted bright red like a Christmas bulb.  Lol!  But this is what I ended up with instead.  I like it.  Went down to JCP and had it done.

Anyway back to the title of this blog – so Cory and I are doing well this Holiday but sadly some friends of mine are not.  Why do bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people?  I won’t mention specifics but two people I love are going through a hard time this Christmas and it sucks.  I am not good with dealing with sickness – I mean 2 years later and I still don’t know what to say when Cory says he doesn’t feel good and whatnot.  I wanna be there for my friends though.  This yeah has kind of sucked in a way.  A lot of people got sick and some even passed away.  It’s sad.  I really don’t know what else to say.  I feel bad because things are going good for Cory and I yet others are going to have a horrible Christmas.  So I ask again why do bad things happen to good people?

Anyway so Kryssi has decided to move back to Oregon the end of the month.  I’ll miss her but I support her decision.  You gotta do what you gotta do.  It’ll be fun having her and Shannon around for my Vacation though.   : )   Cory works a lot so having her to hang with will be fun.

Oh yes the annual Christmas Vacation starts Friday at 5pm!  : )  I am off work till Jan 2nd.  No major plans just a lot of “to-do’s” like:

  • Finish Xmas shopping
  • Clean out the kitchen cupboards
  • Clean out my jewelry box
  • Get drunk with my boys, Dave & Terry
  • Finish watching all seasons of One Tree Hill !
  • Digitize all old dvds and vhs tapes

I am sure I will have a full list by Friday.  Lol!

Anyway so I got installed yesterday by Buster at the Women’s club as the Treasurer again.  : )

Oh and I agreed for the 5th time to be the secretary of MCRCC for George.  Nicole sent me an email this weekend bitching about how I bitched she nominated herself and not me so I got fed up and told her she can have the job and I don’t want her or the boards drama (or something along those lines).  I once thought gays were more dramatic – I’m starting to question that philosophy.  Anyway I was told not to take the email personal and that she really didn’t want the job and blah blah there will end up being no Secretary – WHATEVER!  FINE !  If and ONLY if Nicole doesn’t want the job – I’ll do it.  Gesss!  Why am I putting myself in this headache is beyond me?  Oh right – I’m a good Republican.  : )   I’m sure someone out there – Robinson, Ms. Freemont, Gould ( however he did say Merry Christmas to me at the Women’s meeting so maybe we can be – dare I say it – civil  : p ) – will take this blog the wrong way and I’ll get yelled at again but whatever – it’s my blog and I’ll bitch if I want too.  If you wanna bitch – get your own blog.

Anyway that’s my update.   Write more laterz,

It’s My Blog & I’ll Bitch If I Want Too

Posted by on Saturday, Dec 8, 2012, @, 7, pm in Politics | 0 comments

I am so tired of the Republican Party in this small, little town! Yes – there I said it!! I am sick and tired of the drama! And I thought gays were dramatic (well okay yeah the gays are still more dramatic but whatever).

So I have officially decided to NOT run for the Secretary position for MCRCC. It comes with way too much drama. Apparently the words I wrote on a prior blog were presented to somebody else to mean that I felt they were doing wrong by being nominated for the slate which was not my intent. I think Nicole will be a fine Secretary and I do hope she considers it. I personally don’t have time for the drama nor the energy to deal with it.

All in all – I get that my blog is probably read by many and many people take it VERY different ways but at the end of the day – it’s my blog and it’s my words and if I wanna bitch I’ll bitch!

Yeah a little pissed right now – can u tell. Hmmm oh well – this blog is suppose to be my venting arena – so here’s my rant and rave for the night.

Now back to dealing with my life and cooking dinner!

Love ya all,

My 2 Cents

Posted by on Tuesday, Nov 20, 2012, @, 6, pm in Politics | 0 comments

Okay so did anyone else besides me read the article in the Kingman Daily Miner today titled “Local GOP groups may band together to face Obama fears?”   I know – I’m the only Havasu girl who reads the Kingman paper.  Eh, go figure!  Anyway beside the point – I have to agree with Jim Consolato (which is actually a rare occurrence) when I say that all of the comments to the article were nothing but negative.  There was no ‘positive’ ideas on how to bring the party together and how to attract newcomers and the younger generation in the comments to the article– it was all ‘bash on each other’ ‘let’s just throw ourselves in the mud more’ comments.  REALLY!?  Come on people!  THAT is what is wrong with the party!  The attacking, the policing, the quitting clubs because god forbid someone went against the ‘status’ quo – that’s why the Republicans lost and will continue to lose until something is changed.

So what can we do to ‘ban’ together?   Well here’s my thoughts: I do agree with Mr. Schiff that we need to attract the younger generation to the Party because and I hate to be so blunt but hey I’m Sarah – I’m blunt – the old folks WILL die off and who will be left?  My generation!  So MAYBE instead of having your meetings at the Elks you consider having them elsewhere.  I get people hate change – but sometimes change is good.  If the meals are too pricy then find another establishment where they aren’t.  Have night meetings.   You don’t need to stop having day time meetings, but add to it.  Have night ones as well.  I think trying to coordinate with the college is a great idea.  Has anyone in Havasu tried to contact ASU about starting a Young Republican club?

I think we all have great ideas and if we can all just STOP the bullshit and get along (oh and put on some positive, happy thinking for the community to see) we just MIGHT win the Presidency back in 2016.

So here’s to happy thoughts and more ‘positive’ commenting.

A Busy Rundown of Events

Posted by on Saturday, Nov 3, 2012, @, 11, am in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

I am still alive people!!  Don’t go calling the Coast Guard to find me.  I am still alive!  I’m still here!  I just have been absent from this blog for like a week because I have been uber busy!  Last weekend in fact was busy.  Cory and I crammed a lot into a two day span.  So here is a rundown of what last weekend looked like for us:

Last Friday: After work I went to the bank and then to Subway to get dinner.  I went home after that.  Cory and I ate our dinner and then we got ready for the LGBTS Halloween Party the group was putting on at the Quality Inn.  It was fun times!  I was the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz or at least that was my attempt anyway.

Cory was the Joker.

David did a drag show.  We only stayed for his Britney show but it was hilarious!!

I feel weird going to the events though anymore.  I really don’t know anybody anymore.  I mean there’s Dave and Terry and Judy and Sue and a couple of familiar faces but I don’t know any of the new people.  Yes it is my fault.  I have distanced myself from the group.  Why?  Well because of one person particular but I don’t know – I guess I felt like because I wasn’t ‘gay’ anymore that certain individuals treated me different.  It’s weird – some Republicans hated me/shunned me when they found out I wasn’t the ‘heterosexual’ Sarah and then when I got with Cory some in the LGBT group shunned me for not being the ‘100% homosexual.’  I supposed I just can’t win can I?  But beside the point – I do attempt to go to their events because married to a guy or not I love my gays and I swear one day this town WILL have a huge ass gay pride parade down Main Street.  One day!  I can see it!

Anyway we left around 10ish as we had a busy day to prepare for on Saturday.

Last Saturday: We woke up early and went to the parade.  I decided to be a good “Republican” and attempt to walk with the Central Committee in the Parade.

See attempted!  HOWEVER our float was like 3 from the end and I had to be at the Hampton Inn at 1145 for the McCain/Flake/Kyl Townhall.

So at 11 we still weren’t moving so I left.  I walked down to Albertsons from Smiths and met Cory.  I changed clothes in Albertsons and then off we went to the McCain/Flake/Kyl Townhall.

Now before I continue I wish to address something.  I said a while back that I had all intentions of running for Secretary in January of the Central Committee (and I might still run).  No one else had volunteered so George said I was going to be on the slaet.  Well last minute change – I got kicked off being put on and Nicole (who is ON the nominating committee) was put on instead.  Hmmm … wonder how that happened?  Oh let me take a WILD guess – Gould and his team of out there radical people who claim they are the ‘real Republicans’ rushed to find somebody/anybody to put on the slate besides me.  Now I have nothing against Nicole, but she IS on the nominating committee.  Granted there is no rule that those on the committee cannot nominate themselves but I was told she was dead set on NOT running for any position and now all of a sudden she ‘changes her mind’ the day of the meeting to put the slate together.  Hmmm … fishy if you ask me.

I get that I am the out there, out spoken, use to be gay trouble maker blogger that people make me out to be.  And hey that may ALL be true but some people are just down right cruel.  You know why I am seriously considering NOT running for the position now because if THAT is how the Central Committee treats people – I don’t want to be a part of it.  Everyone use to be SO nice to me (including Gould) until it was found out that I sleep with the same sex.  And now … well you see what happens!  So why would I want to associate myself with people like that?  Maybe I’ll start my own Republican club – one that is open to “new” ideas.  : )   It’s a thought!

Anyway back to my weekend – so we went to the Town Hall.  I took pictures – it’s my job.

We even followed Buster to the airport to take MORE pictures.  LoL!   I got my picture taken with Senator Jon Kyl.  I already have pictures with Congressman (soon to be Senator) Flake and Senator McCain but not Senator Kyl.

Anyway being by the airport worked out perfectly time wise because Cory had an interview at JCPenny’s at 3 which is RIGHT across the street from the airport.  Haha!  Anyway the interview went well.  I think … lol!   I spent the time he was in the interview walking around finding outfits I want to purchase.  Like this outfit!  I want!

Oh did you know it’s NOT called JcPenny’s anymore.  It’s called JCP.   Mmmhmm!

Anyway after that we went home and grabbed a bit to eat.  We had another appointment at five but that appointment got put on hold till six.  Then we met the Parents down at the London Bridge at 7 to watch Matt Farris perform.  We ate at Jersey Grill which is way too overpriced for the quality of food.  Yuck!  Judy and Sue and even Terry where there.  They were sitting behind us!  Hehe!  Good times!

Then we FINALLY went home around 9 o’clock!

Sunday we did nothing!  Well I did a little laundry but beyond that …!

We were going to go down to Main Street for Halloween but didn’t end up doing that.  I spent all of Thursday night making Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies for the Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Club Bunco event!  Yum!  I <3 Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!  Hehe!

Anyway that has been my life lately.   I’ll talk to u guys laterz!

Love ya!

A Murder In Gravestone

Posted by on Saturday, Sep 29, 2012, @, 12, pm in Sarahs Rants | 1 comment

So Thursday night was the Murder Mystery Dinner put on by the Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Club. It was of course my acting debut! So now I can go on and audition for the role of Stefano Dimera’s long lost evil daughter on Days of Our Lives, and I’ll have THIS to reference to.

I know … I shouldn’t quit my day job!

Anyway, the evening was extremely fun and well attended. All in all I think it was a success! We had over 80 people in attendance.

The cast for the evening was of course me, Shawna Thornton, Buster Johnson, last year’s LHRW’s scholarship winner Savanna Bailey, George Schnitgrund, Keli Ward and Mike File.

So the play was at Sue’s Clubhouse in Desert Hills. I got there around 5ish. The actors had to go eat before the show began.

We had BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches, beans and coleslaw for the main event. We had beer and wine as well.

For desert we had apple cobbler!

So the story line went something like this:

Given the current state of affairs in Gravestone, Arizona, the Mayor feared for his life and hadn’t seen the sun in months. With the last three Sheriffs mysteriously shot in the back, Gravestone had become a lawless town run by a bunch of outlaws who called themselves The Ranchers.
Wylie Arp, the Sheriff of Duck City, Kansas, (played by Superintendent Mike File) left his career as a lawman and traveled west to Gravestone with his brothers and friends. He had plans of sinking his life savings into a business and living the rest of his days free from the stress of law enforcement. Little did he know what awaited him.

Soon after Wylie and his group arrived in Gravestone, the Mayor asked Bella Starry – a waitress at the Gravestone Saloon – (played by Candidate for State Senate, Dr. Kelli Ward) to invite everyone in Gravestone for a celebration. The Mayor was optimistic that Wylie and his brothers would consider taking over as the law enforcement in town and getting The Ranchers under control or better yet…running them out of town.

Everyone in town gathered at the Gravestone Saloon – even some of the Ranchers and other outlaws.

There was Abby Oakley (played by me) – she is a feisty exhibition sharpshooter in Bronco Bill’s Traveling Wild Western Show. Known by the fans of her show as Abby Sure Shot she can shoot a hair that’s out of place on a woman’s head from across the room.

Doc Galaday (played by George Schnitgrund) is Wylie Arp’s right hand man. Doc rides the fence on both sides of the law but his reputation has made him a terror in the hearts of the lawless. Doc is a physician by trade but his tuberculosis has drastically reduced his number of patients so he supplements his income with gambling.

Katie Fishman (played by Savanna Bailey) is one of the ladies who helped put the wild in the Wild West! As Doc Galaday’s longtime girlfriend, she’s also struggled to stay on the right side of the law. Doc’s solid friendship with the ex-lawman Wylie Arp has proven to be a positive force with this pair.

Wavy Will Bronchus (played by Supervisor Buster Johnson) is the leader of the loosely organized criminal faction called the “Ranchers.” A sorted group of cattle rustlers, thieves and even murderers, this group has come to control the lawless town of Gravestone. That is, until Wylie and friends came to town.

The tall tale telling Calamity Janie (played by Shawna Thornton) is a force to be reckoned with! Former Great Plains cattle herder turned U.S. Scout, this rugged lady most recently won a spot as a trick shooter in Bronco Bill’s traveling Wild Western Show. This is definitely one gal that you should never double cross, as she’s not called Calamity Janie for nothing.

As the guests eat a reward poster surfaced for Wavy Will and cast members go around and tell their stories.

My story was this: (remember I’m Abby Oakley)

First off, I despised that Wavy Bill Bronchus because shot my father’s best racehorse just because he bet on the horse and it didn’t win! It’s criminal to shoot a horse like that you know. My father loved that horse was our family’s moneymaker. What a despicable man!!

My fans call me “Abby Sure Shot” and they’re right! I never miss! Everyone knows that I’m the best shot around. I don’t know how I would handle it if someone said I wasn’t !!!!! I can shoot a hair that’s out of place on a woman’s head from across the room. You know I’d like to try that shot on that Bella Starry, maybe in my next show, and maybe I’ll miss – right Bella? Wouldn’t that be a shame! But whatever my target I never ever miss, you hear me – never ever!

Speaking of that Bella Starry, she is one of those Hatplains you know, they’re all criminals!. My best friend when I was growing up was Tawnie McToy and she told me all about how horrible the Hatplains are. I heard Bella was an outlaw before she moved to Gravestone, even spent time in prison! Like I said, those Hatplains are all criminals.

You know I would really like to quit the Wild West show, even though I’m the best shot in the West!! Maybe I could get some money some other way, maybe like a reward!

Everyone else told their story of why they didn’t like Wavy Will. Some said he killed their brother, husband or they had a past lover affair with him. Whatever the case was – everyone hated Wavy Will and had a reason to want him dead!

So while a Wild West dinner was served and a fun Western Movie Challenge was enjoyed by the guests, Wavy Will was found murdered in cold blood! The townspeople rallied together to figure out whodunit. Over cobbler, everyone came clean with their involvement with the crime and to everyone’s shock – I confessed to the murder!!!!

That’s right! I shot him in the back five times!!!

Why? Because during dinner when making our rounds he came up to me (after I confronted him on killing my father’s best race horse) and said I was no good at shooting and couldn’t shot the side of a barn! WHAT! No one tells Abby Sure Shot that! I do have my pride you know!!

So yeah I shot him five times in the back!!

Haha!

And that folks was the end – I didn’t go to jail though I escaped and everyone let me because well … no one really liked Wavy Will. I saved the tax folks money by shooting him.

And that was the story line for our Murder Mystery!!!

Fun times were had by all and we raised money for our club so they can give scholarships out to graduating high schoolers in our community.

Who Is Sarah A Hall?

Posted by on Thursday, Sep 27, 2012, @, 12, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

Sarah A Hall is the girl who should be mesmerizing her lines for her big acting debut tonight and NOT writing a blog but … whatever!

Sarah A Hall is a procrastinator who procrastinated her way through college but ALWAYS got A’s and B’s because I’m good at last minute studying and I’m REALLY good at rambling about bullshit and making it sound like I know what I’m really talking about.

But no in all out seriousness who is Sarah A Hall?

I haven’t done one of these in a while and I have seen many people do it so I figured – why not.  Maybe I need to take some time to remember who I am.

  • I’m the girl who bites her nails and picks at her cuticles when I’m nervous.  Hence why I can never seem to grow my nails out (at least not for too long anyway).
  • I’m the person who has spent the past 10 years writing a story about my life and I’m STILL on Part 1!  I swear one day I’ll finish Part 1 and then maybe I’ll write Part 2 and Part 3 and oh let’s not forget AFTER the Affair because the story of Justin and Ann NEVER ends because let’s face it – there are people in your life you try to get rid of but somehow they end up crawling back to you EVERY SINGLE TIME!!
  • Confession time – I REALLY would love to play Stefano Dimera’s long lost evil daughter on Days of Our Lives!  Dead serious!!
  • Confession time part 2 – YES I REALLY did name my cat, Edward, after Jared’s xboyfriend who ended up being my husband’s ex boyfriend as well who also may I add ended up being the x fiancée of Jared’s arch rival.  Yeah … !  See why my life fits so perfectly into the pages of a novel!  But anyway – I still at times just tell people I named him after Edward from Twilight even though I got Edward a good two years before the movie came out … but come on – who’s counting!
  • I would totally have sex (if I wasn’t married of course) with Adam Lambert and Taylor Swift (at the same time too if they wanted).
  • I was the 23 year old with the Britney Spear’s bus and Justin Timberlake bobble head still in her room (and then I met Cory … lol!)
  • I hate the term bisexuality yet that is still what I define myself as.  I could write you an entire list of female actresses and singers I find attractive but when it comes to males … ehhh … Adam Lambert and Damon from Vampire Diaries top the list and maybe Lucas on One Tree Hill (unless Brooke from One Tree Hill is in the picture!  Sorry totally picking Brooke over Lucas!)
  • I’m the gay loving Republican (hence why Ron Gould dislikes me).
  • I have had a journal/blog since 1999 and YES it is something I am VERY proud of!!  Who else can say they have documented their life in the contexts of a journal or website for the past 13 years!
  • I love drama and controversy (hence the entire concept behind AOTM and this website!)
  • Yes there was like 75% of me that started this website for the SIMPLE purpose of pissing Jared off!  Oh and it worked … anyone else remember the big fight of 2009 or is that just me?
  • I talk to Robi sometimes – HEY YOU ALL KNOW YOU DO TO SO DON’T EVEN GIVE ME THAT LOOK!  I may not believe in God but I believe in my Robs!
  • If I could do the whole Brooke thing over again maybe I would have supported her more instead of just shutting her out.  I still don’t understand how someone can sit there for 9 years and watch everything I went through with Jared and STILL do what she did, but then again it’s not for me to understand.  I still don’t get why it is so easy for me to defend him yet I didn’t do the same for her.  So yeah, if I could go back – I would have fought harder for our friendship.

Okay this is turning into more of a “Confession” and not “Who is Sarah A Hall!”

  •  I am famous for those words by the way!  ”Whatever!”
  • I like to listen to my favorite songs on repeat.  For example I think I have listened to “Believe Again” by Taylor Swift like 40x in the past day since I got it.  : )   Yeah — it’s on repeat and until I get sick of it, it will continue to be on repeat and then I’ll move onto another song I put on repeat until a new song comes out and so forth and so forth and so forth.
  • Part of me still wants to go to Law School and be a lawyer and prove Jared wrong!  Just saying!
  • I’m still looking for that life size cut out of Adam Lambert if anybody wanted to know … hence … birthday coming up … !!
  • Oh speaking of birthdays – I WANT A GUITAR!  A PINK GUITAR !!!  Oh and the Taylor Swift guitar book too may I add!  I have ALWAYS had this dream of starting a band, being a song writer, and being the next Taylor Swift.  I know – I can’t sing!  I GET THAT!!  But still!!   A girl can dream you know!
  • I love my husband and NO I would not trade him for boobs!  So fuck all you straight and gay hypocrites out there who can’t seem to grasp our relationship!  ::cough:: Kelly  ::cough::
  • I still believe in gay marriage and I still think abortion should be abolished (unless you are raped or the child is sick and would be born with a disability that would alter its life so it basically has no meaning).   And I am NOT Pro-life because of religion!  AGAIN I DON’T BELIEVE IN IT!!  I am pro-life because a life is still a life.  If you get pregnant well that’s your mistake.  Own up to it!  Adopt it out … oh wait here’s a wonderful concept – let it easier for gays to adopt!  Let’s solve two problems with one stone!  Ahhh!  Grrrr!
  • I miss working in retail sometimes … sometimes …
  • I love to cook and would LOVE to just try some random no-recipe needed recipe but then I’m afraid it’ll turn out horrible and I’ll get Cory and his mother sick.  So yeah …!  Maybe I should just stick to allrecipes.com
  • I want a kid but they scare me … !!  I never know what to do with a kid and sometimes I think I’m too much of a kid to have a kid.  I don’t know … I mean I have my puppy and I love Duncers but a kid is a BIG responsibility!  But yet I want a kid.  I don’t want to be like Robi and die unexpectedly and wonder what ever happened to my ‘legacy.’   I mean come on – 13 years worth of journals HAVE to be passed onto somebody!!  Yeah that’s a horrible reason for wanting a kid huh?   Yeahhhhhh …. !  Maybe I should just go back to the whole ‘giving my egg to gay best friend and he have kid and I be aunt’ concept.  Yeah!
  • I REALLY should go memorize my Final Statement for tonight …

Poop!

Alright I’m done!

Later!

The Dr. Is In The House

So at our Republican Women’s Luncheon yesterday we had Dr. Devin Cunning come talk to us about Obama Care and his opinion on the topic.

He made some rather interesting points that I would like to point out in regards to Obama Care.  Now we all agree something needs to be done to help reform Health Care in America; however Obama Care is not the answer.  Did you know Obama Care doesn’t even address the main thing that drives up health care costs?  Tort Reform!  No where in the pages of the Obama Care literature will you find Tort Reform.  So let me explain to you all in plain English the problem with that.  You see Obama Care says in the text of the bill that those over a certain age will no longer be illegable for certain procedures.  For example one lady’s sister needed a tetnis shot.  She is over 70, but the doctors told her she was too old and couldn’t get one.  It’s already happening folks!  70 is not too old for a tetnis shot!  Come on people!  With Obama Care they are also going to limit the number of procedures they pay for.  So the doctor may want to explore more options to find out what is wrong with you, but he may not be allowed because insurance won’t cover it.  So let’s limit what the doctors can do but not put into the bill tort reform so they don’t get sued because federal legislature has prevented them from doing further investigating on what could be wrong with you.  Now granted you can pay for all of this out of pocket in some cases (unless you’re old) but who has the money for that.  Tort reform should be the number one thing in any health care reform bill.  It drives up the cost of health care on a daily basis but yet we are doing nothing about it.

It seems to me that Obama Care basically says “here is insurance for the uninsured.  If you don’t go buy it, we will punish you.  There problem fixed.”  Um wait!  What about the rest of the problems?

Dr. Cunning also made a good point in regards to the ER.  You think if people have health insurance they wont go to the ER thus fixing our cluttered ER rooms.  It’s true people go to the  ER because the ER cant turn them down and they probably lack in health care; however, giving someone insurance doesn’t really solve the cluttered ER problem.  I actually am proof of that.  I have insurance and when was the last time I went and got anything done in regards to preventative care?  Yeah – it’s been a while! Guilty!

With Obama Care a lot of doctors will probably stop accepting new Medicare patients because the return on it isn’t going to be worth it.  So we will have fewer doctors to chose from.  Also did you know doctors cant speak to eachother about their pricing system?  It’s against the law.  So a lot of doctors are joining in with hospitals so they can fight this Obama Care because to try and join together without being apart of a larger corporation is well … illegal.

The future of Medicine as we know it in this Country will be different if Obama Care goes into affect.  Sure – you may have health insurance – but will that quality of health insurance be worth the costs?  Private Practices could go out of business in exchange for joining hospitals (it’s already happening in Kingman.  One lady mentioned that the Kingman Regional Medical Center went from 20 some doctors to 80 some in the last couple of years).  It’ll take longer than it already does to get tests performed because the approval process with insurance companies/the government will take much longer.

I have to agree with Dr. Cunning when he said that we don’t need more middle men, more paper work and more regulations.  Health care needs to be reformed but in order to reform health care and still keep the ‘quality’ of care we are use to – Obama Care is not the answer.  I hate to see the day when Americans have to go over seas to get quality health care because American doctors can’t or won’t do certain procedures on certain individuals.  That day will come if Obama Care is allowed to stay in place.

A Couple Thoughts From The Peanut Gallery

Posted by on Monday, Sep 10, 2012, @, 10, pm in Politics | 0 comments

I know – I know – I was on such a ‘nice’ streak too, but being nice is boring and we all know the drama is what brings you all to my website to see what I wrote.  If I wrote about nothing more than sunshine and rainbows – well why would you read what I write?   EXACTLY!!

Moving on!

So I was sitting here today thinking (it’s what I do when I get bored) and I came to this strange realization that most of you are hypocrites.  In fact, as far right as some of you are, you really aren’t true Republicans.  Honestly how can you put your support behind people who aren’t even PC’s?  Shouldn’t we – as elected Precinct Committee people – be out supporting our fellow PCs for office.  Yet here we are – not supporting those that have put years of dedication into the party.  Oh no!  Let’s support those like Steve Moss who NEVER even bothered to come to any of the Republican events (maybe he went to the ones in Bullhead but it’s part of Havasu he is supposed to represent IF elected NOT Bullhead) and not put our support behind the one who has been a PC for the past six years!  Let’s support Calvi – a guy who didn’t even bother to vote in the past elections and only ran for PC because he was running for another office.  Now I will give Calvi the benefit of the doubt because let’s face it – he did show up on Saturday.  So maybe he wont follow the path of so many others before him, but my point – as fellow PCs where were you guys?  I get that as a “PC” we aren’t suppose to put our support behind someone in the Primary.  For example I can’t say “Sarah, the elected PC, supports so and so in the Primary Race.”  But Sarah as in indvidual can and honestly – I would THINK that people would put their support behind those that have dedicated YEARS to the Party not those who either only just now started to care or those that apparently still don’t give a shit.

You all say I’m the bad guy but you all know deep down – I am right.

Just a thought from the Peanut Gallery.

Happy Voting!

“You know I don’t care what people say about you.  You’re pretty amazing.”

“So are you.”

“I don’t feel much of amazing anymore.”

“Oh but you are.  Don’t listen to the rumors; you’re still the same girl I knew ten years ago.”

Lately I seem to have lost my writing creativity.  I haven’t wanted to write much – let alone do much of anything.  I haven’t pin pointed what is wrong exactly.  I wake up and it takes every single ounce of energy I have to actually get up.  Once I am up and showered I seem to be okay.  And then the middle of the afternoon comes and I’m back to feeling like crap.  I get okay around dinner time and then here in about 30 minutes I’ll go back to feel ‘blah.’   I was told it was “all in my head.”  I know – how ironic coming from the girl who swore up and down most illness is in one’s head.  Now under normal circumstances I would say this is ALL in my head; however usually when that is the case my head tells me to get my ass up and I do so and I am good.  In this case however the head says get up and the body says ‘fuck you’ back.  So I really doubt it’s “all in my head” this time.  But you know – I hate doctors.  So I’ll wait another year and who knows maybe by this time next year I’ll get around to making that doctor appoint.

Oh and by the way – I am not going into the medical field despite what I wrote in my last blog post.  I’ll stick to my FOUR MORE YEAR long degree of Web Design.  I owe it to myself to open my own business and live the dream of web design and blogging and MAKING money off of it.  I can’t stay at mediocre jobs for ever.  I am not Mr. McDonald who always said “my life is mediocre.”  Mmm and you wonder why you ended up where you ended up?  Exactly!!!

“Ever talked to that one person you probably shouldn’t talk to?  You know who I am talking about?  The guy who you dated in high school and thought you’d end up marrying but in all out reality you’re relationship only lasted five months.  You know the guy who you fucked after you broke up with your 3 year long fiancée to find out if you were really gay or not.  Oh and yeah the guy you slept with after your best friend died.  Yeah that’s the one … yeah!  I probably shouldn’t talk to him …”

“Why is that?”

“Because he’s also the guy who didn’t fight for me because he felt he couldn’t share me with you.”

So I found out some awesome information today!  And by awesome – I mean down right awesome!  It brought a smile to my face.

The Arizona Federation of Republican Women’s October meeting is in Tucson and the EXACT SAME weekend as Tucson Pride!!  Now I really have NO REASON not to go to Tucson Pride.  I can totally kill two birds with one stone!  I can go to the convention on Friday and Saturday morning/early afternoon.  It’s usually over before 2 and then go to Pride and then hit the bars and party all night with me gay peeps!  Yeahhhhhhh!!!  Republicans and Gays all in ONE weekend!  Oooo it is going to be awesome!  I mean HOW ironic is that!!  And in Tucson of ALL the damn places!!  Oooo!  I am so excited!  I have decided (and I haven’t told Cory yet but that’s okay I’ll tell him tonight whenever he calls me) that I am taking the money I make for working the July 4th Holiday at his work as dispatcher again and going to save it for Tucson Pride/Republican weekend (haha!!  Pride/Republican in one sentence!  Oh never thought the day would come).   Yeap yeap!  It is going to be AWESOME!!!!  I’ll try and drag Cory with me but I doubt I can picture him sitting through a Republican convention!!  Hmmm … I can always have my Tom Friend give him a tour of Tucson while I am at it.  ::shrugs::

“Remember Tucson Pride 2006?”

“Yeah?”

“You called that so called guy you speak of a douche bag who didn’t know shit because a couple weeks prior he came to your door step and threatened your life.  So why would you listen to a damn thing he has to say anyway?”

So I went to Kmart tonight to get Pops a pair of blue jeans for his BDay and a Father’s Day Card (we’re doing BDay/Father’s Day this weekend in Bullhead at Buffalo Wild Wings!  Yum!).  Oh by the way – did I mention that Pops is having knee surgery on June 18th!!  The DAY after Father’s Day!!  He’s having his entire knee cap replaced!  Oooo!  I shiver at the thought of it!  I HATE BONES!  HATE HATE HATE HATE!!  So yeahhhh ….!!  He should have had it done years ago but they are going to do it now.  So hopefully all goes well.

Anyway so while pulling into the parking lot of Kmart I thought of something – I could tell my life story from the parking lot of Kmart.  Do you realize how much shit went down in that parking lot!!  Omg!  Everything …. !!!

“Remember that time I told you about how he threatened me in the Kmart parking lot in front of Tom, Megan, Sean, and everyone!”

“Yeah and somehow Megan still ended up sleeping with the bastard huh?”

I mean I met Tom Lenal in the Kmart Parking lot (oh come on you all know I made up the PFLAG story to get the bastard to talk to me!), Randy Wells chased Justin and I around the parking lot in his damn wheel chair, the James Black situation and of course now one can forget … Kmart is where it all started!!  Josh Randolph and the famous words that would go on to create AOTM Part 2.

Who To Vote For – Arizona House & Senate Edition

Posted by on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, @, 7, pm in Politics | 0 comments

Well it’s that time of year again!!  The signature process is FINALLY over and we can finally get down to business!  And you all know what that means right?  It is time to sit down, go over the issues, and figure out who we are going to vote for in August.

Every election cycle I sit down and do my “Who to vote for” series where I give you MY opinion on who to vote for.  I supposed I should put in this disclaimer as to not piss off Ms. Fremont this year (opps sorry it’s Mrs. Fremont isn’t it?  Ah, whatever!).  Wouldn’t want a repeat of 2010 where I was accused of being such a horrible person for giving out MY views on the election on my OWN PERSONALLY WEBSITE!  So here is MY disclaimer:

Disclaimer: The following views and opinions expressed DO NOT represent the views or opinions of the Mohave County Republican Central Committee OR the Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Club.  The following views and opinions are that of Sarah A. Hall!  The following is writen in her view and her view ONLY and does NOT represent the view of ANY organization or business she is involved in.  Reader discretion is advised.

Oh and yeah and one more thing to ALL candidates: it’s an election year: my opinions are NOT politically correct and sometimes aren’t very nice either.  If you can’t handle it: honestly you SHOULD NOT be in politics!

Anyway so I’d like to start my “Who to vote for” series with the Arizona House of Representatives and Senate candidates.  Now please note – I am a registered Republican.  All the candidates I am going to go over ARE Republicans.  If you want a rundown of Democratic candidates – well maybe you should read a Democrats blog!

The Arizona House of Representatives

Well our good old Nancy McLain is termed out this year.  So you will not see her name on the ballot for Arizona House (however you will see it for Arizona Senate but we’ll get to that later).

So the candidates are as followed: Doris Goodale (incumbent), George Schnittgrund, Wyatt Brooks, and Sonny Borrelli.

There are two positions open so you can vote for two people.  Honestly, I have no idea who to vote for.

After seeing our current Representative Doris Goodale vote down SB1433 this last session in regards to Colorado City and Polygamy, I can honestly not vote for her again.  To hear the words come out of her mouth that “polygamy is not illegal” just made me lose all respect for the woman.  Polygamy is illegal and it is stated in the Arizona Constitution that it is.  But apparently Mrs. Goodale does not know her own constitution.  Either way, Mrs. Goodale will never receive a yes vote from me again and she shouldn’t receive it from you either.  I say no on Goodale.

As for this George Schnittgrund character: I have met him.  Not sure I’d vote for him.  He’s got some shady stuff in his past from stalking charges to warrants out for his arrest.  Granted we all have a shady past.  I have my own.  I guess one good aspect he does have going for him is he is from Havasu.  Goodale is a Kingman native, and honestly I don’t trust those Kingman natives.  The representation should come from here.  We are after all the biggest of the three cities.  However, I don’t know much about this George character.  He doesn’t have a website and his facebook is private!  If you’re going to run for office at least have a website or public facebook account.  Either way, according to news articles I have read he has been here 10 years and is a PC.  It’s true he is a Precinct Committeeperson but he has NOT been one for ten years.  He just joined in 2010.  I really hate it when people just all of a sudden ‘decide’ one day to get involved.  Where were you five years ago?  Obviously not involved.  I mean don’t get me wrong – that’s awesome that you care now, but don’t act like you have ‘always’ cared and have ‘always’ been involved when in all out reality you have NOT!  Either way – he owns a business, is from Havasu, and besides the shady past thing seems like an ‘okay’ guy.  I’d vote for him over Doris, but I can’t say for sure he has my vote.

Sonny Borrelli – Another Havasu native!  Actually he served on city council … for not even a full term!  See that’s what gets me!  He can’t even fulfill a FULL term on the city council and he wants to be our next State Rep?  Really?  And THEN to top it off – he doesn’t resign prior to 30 days before signatures are due.  He knew a LONG time ago he was going to run for this position so he should have resigned THEN because then the people of Havasu could have voted for who they wanted to replace him.  As it turns out, now it’s up to the Mayor and current council to appoint somebody to extend out Borrelli’s term.  He knew he was going to run a good two months ago – he should have resigned then so the PEOPLE of Havasu got to have a vote in who replaces him.  I really have an issue with the fact he didn’t sit out one whole term as our city council representative.  For that reason – he may have lost my vote.  I look at it like this – if you want a job and you run for said job and you get elected – you better DO that job not bail on it half way through the term.  But hey one good thing about Borrelli – he has a public facebook!

As for Wyatt Brooks – I honestly don’t know a damn thing about the guy!  Who?  Wyatt?  Huh?  Never met him!  He is a PC.  Became one in 2010 like George.  Yeah gotta love those that decide to run and then ‘oh I think I’m going to get involved now!’  Honestly I don’t know anything about this guy.  He has a public facebook though.  :shrugs:

So who to vote for?  I guess anybody but Goodale!  : )  Because honestly Sonny, Wyatt or George would be a better choice.

The Arizona Senate

“Senator Gould is termed out” – music to my ears!  Unfortunately now he’s running for U.S. House of Representatives!  Eh!

So the candidates for Arizona Senate are as followed: Nancy McLain, Sam Scarmardo, Kelli Ward.

Nancy McLain why would I vote for you?  Anyone who voted against SB1433 does NOT get my vote!  Not to mention your little hissy fit over my opinion article in the April LHRW newsletter.  : )   You know what is sad?  I was actually going to vote for you.  I do believe I signed you petition, but you have lost my vote and my respect.

Kelli Ward – I again hate those that only want to get involved AFTER they decide to run for office.  But whatever – that’s politics.  What are you going do?  So Mrs. Ward – you know she used to be my doctor along with my husband’s doctor.  I never met her though.  She had her own practice but apparently never actually practiced there – or so it seemed.  So is she going to run the state of Arizona like she did her practice?  Be there in name only?  Sorry – I can’t vote for someone who in my opinion is unreliable not to mention not a very good doctor.

Sam Scarmardo – I DO NOT like the fact Ron Gould endorses him!  In fact, I am afraid he may just be another Ron Gould!  However he has ALWAYS been involved in the party and in politics.  I have met him and I do think he listens to the people.  He actually reminds me of what Gould USE to be.  I actually liked Ron Gould back in the day until he let politics take over his brain cells.  Gould actually use to be an okay guy, and that’s who Sam reminds me of.  The “old” Gould who use to care about the people and not put ‘politics’ and self-greed before taking care of his constituents.  For that reason – I do think I’m going to vote for Sam.

So who to vote for?  Sam Scarmardo – I do think it’s time to show some appreciation to those who have dedicated their life to the Republican Party not just to someone who all of a sudden decides NOW that they care.

Elections 2012 – who will you vote for?

A Busy Week & A Double Weekend Ahead

Posted by on Thursday, May 24, 2012, @, 10, pm in Politics, Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

So this week has been a rather busy week.  It is one week away from the deadline to turn in signatures to qualify for the ballot here in Arizona.  I will be glad when signatures are done with.  Gathering signatures is the main reason why I could never actually do the whole political thing.  It’s SO not my favorite part of the process.  But I did manage to collect my boss some signatures and get my ten and my parents ten signatures for PC.  Yes my parents are going to be PCs (I am serious about getting the crazies out of the party oh and Ron Gould).  I got my brother to sign up as well (but he got his own signatures).  Oya!

So work was busy this week.  Well okay Tuesday wasn’t soo much but I had a project to work on so it seemed busy.  Anyway, Wednesday Congressman Jeff Flake (who is running for Arizona Senate since Senator Kyl is retiring) was in town.  He went up to Horizon Six and viewed the water detention basin project up there.  I have never been up there.  I didn’t realize Horizon Six was RIGHT by my parents house.  It’s just a couple blocks up.  Hm, anyway it was neat.  I tagged along to take pictures!  I am picture girl after all.  Anyway then Flake went to the Republican Headquarters to speak to a small group of PCs.  So we went up and heard him speak.  It was good times.

Interesting fact: the last time the United States Senate passed a budget was before the FIRST generation Ipad was EVER realized.  That’s crazy!  They are on Ipad 3!!

Anyway, then today was filled with meetings.  Tomorrow – well tomorrow is Friday!

It’s going to be a BUSY BUSY night for me.  I work 8-5 at my main job and then get off and am working dispatch at Cory’s job from 7-3am.  They always hire extras for Holiday Weekends.  So I told them I’d work Friday and Saturday from 7-3am.  I am hoping it’ll be some extra cash.  These past two nights Cory hasn’t made very good money cause they over hire (I always hate when Albertsons did that) but then again the weekend hasn’t OFFICIALLY started yet so hopefully tomorrow will be busy.  I hope … !!  But yeah should be interesting.  I’m actually looking forward to it.  It’s something different and something to do to keep me out of trouble.

Monday I’m supposed to take the parents and Grandma to see the Hoover Dam.  Well actually they want to see the new Bypass Bridge.  Why I don’t know – it’s JUST a bridge!  But I told them you can still drive on the Hoover Dam if you cross into Nevada.  So we’ll see if we actually end up going to the Hoover Dam or to a bridge.  Lol!

Anyway busy busy weekend – not sure when I’ll get a chance to update, but I’ll try and keep you all posted on this crazy Memorial Day weekend!

Have a good one!

Taking The Party Back

Posted by on Thursday, May 10, 2012, @, 11, pm in Politics | 0 comments

So I decided today that I am going to go walk my precinct and get myself the ten signatures needed to run for Precinct Committee person again!!

We all know I highly dislike Ron Gould who is the party’s current chairman here in Mohave County. I also think our party has been high jacked by lunatics who give the party a bad name (hence the guy who wears the pitch fork hat and is proud of his idiocy). With that said – that is exactly why I decided to rerun for the position of PC!! Because it’s time to take the party back.

I may not be the most liked person in the party ( in fact some like one person in particular who’s name shall not be mentioned cause she’s not that special seems to make it her life long mission to hate me) but I am the youngest which means if all goes according to plan I will out last the crazies. Gould can’t be chairman for ever and siting back and doing nothing is not going to help. Action – its about action and it’s high time we take our party back because people its 2012 and instead of fighting the democrats we sit here fighting amongst ourselves. What is that really accomplishing??

10 signatures – should be a piece of cake.

I Love The Way You Lie …

“She still hates me.” – S

“Yeah I figured as much.  You know how it works though people either love us or they hate us.  There is no in between.” – J

“Yeah but she hates me because I kissed a girl and liked it.  Her reasoning is kind of petty if you ask me.” – S

“Oh come on we all know back in the day she kissed a girl and liked it too.  It was just back in her day admitting to liking it would have meant the end to her picture perfect social life.  She’s just jealous because it’s the year 2012 and you had the nerve to kiss a girl and like it publicly where as she will never know what that feels like.” – J

————-

So I am officially the Treasurer for the Women’s Club.  I guess some people are having a fit over it.  I know – the x lesbian turned straight (I actually prefer to be called bisexual over straight but for the purpose of my point I’ll go with straight) – is in charge of the clubs money!  Oh no!  What a crime!  Haha!  Oooo … some people really have NOTHING better to do with their lives then devote time to hating me?  I find it rather funny.  I mean what did I ever do to you besides try and shake up the establish and bring homosexuality to the Republican party?  ::shrugs::  Ahhh oh well!  I’ll sit back with my popcorn and laugh at the comedy you bring to my life.  : )  Anyway I’m happy to be the Treasurer.  Never done it before so should be interesting.  Can’t be that hard.  Right?

Anyway, so I am in the works of getting a new layout for the website up.  I am hoping to get it up Friday!  I know I said this LAST week but I really am serious!  It’s going to be somewhat different yet somewhat the same.  I want to focus on three areas for the site – the blog, the web design and the stories.  Hopefully it all comes together so I can reveal the new layout to you all!

Anyway so they found out what was wrong with Debbie.  She finally went to the doctor today.  Cory is staying over with her tonight to keep an eye on her.  She got some meds.  With the help of them it should fix the problem.  Hopefully!

Anyway I LOVED that song Colton sang on Idol tonight!  I loved the song when I heard Rihanna sing it but she did a rap version of it.  So I have to say I love Skylar Gray’s version 1000x better!  I just love it!

I am hoping Colton wins or at least gets 2nd place! I really like him and I know he’d be a CD I’d buy! It’s like Daughtry – I LOVE Daughtry! Any CD they put out I LOVE IT and I think Colton would be the same way.

Well I am tired. So I am heading to bed!

3 Down – 9 More To Go

Posted by on Tuesday, Apr 3, 2012, @, 5, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

I know I’m a bit late posting this! By 3 days – give me a break – I was moving! Lol! But here’s my monthly recap for March 2012!

Let’s take a moment to go over my 2012 Goal List & see what I did or did not accomplish

My 12 in 2012 goal list :

  • Complete the 365 (366 technically cause 2012 is a leap year) Project by posting once a day on my blog Okay I may have missed a day or two due to the move but for the most part I have been keeping up with posting (or trying too) at least once a day!
  • Finish Affair of the Mind Part 1 !  Am I ever going to finish it?  I have 9 more months to go … right?  : )  It’ll happen!
  • Read 12 books in 2012  Due to the move and the fact I didn’t care for the March Twook club book of the month – I skipped this one!  I figure I’ll make it up this summer when nothing is on TV.
  • Go vacation in a state I haven’t ever vacationed in before Still a work in progress.
  • Lose at least 5lbs (10 is actually what I would prefer to lose but I am trying to keep this reasonable) by summer Well … I’m not doing a real good job on this goal!  I tell myself I’m going to get up at 5am Monday through Friday and exercise and I always find an excuse now too!  ::Grrr::  I think I’ll dedicate April to trying to accomplish this goal!  Yeap Yeap!
  • Finally launch my web design business site & get the business fully up and running The site isn’t FULLY up and running but I did snag a new client and got my price listing and Terms of Design down!  : )  I’m on my way!
  • Create 12 of my own unique food recipes I made my special Green St. Patty’s Day Cake! Yumm! 3 down and 9 more recipes to go!
  • Enroll in some sort of continuing education by 2013, wither it be graduate school or another B.S. program   Didn’t make much progress with this goal this month
  • Build up our savings account to at least have $1500 in it by year end We had over $1000!!  BUT we had to spend $468 of it on deposits for the new place and $500 on car repairs for Cory’s truck!  It’s always something huh?  ::shrugs::  Oh well the point is – we DID save the $$!!  But life happens!
  • Interact more with the blogging community  I commented on blogs this month!  Yeah go me!  Hehe!

Looks like I have accomplished the same goals as last month. I guess for March I need to make it a point to go through this list and do the ones that are not crossed off in red.

In response to my other blog post and facebook status, I have been told repeatedly that the argument against contraception being provided via tax payer dollars or insurance premiums is because of “religion” and the “first amendment” right of freedom of religion.  Well you know me.  Someone tells me something and I don’t believe them – I go look it up!  And this is what I found.

Employment Division v. Smith!  A Supreme Court decision written by none other than Antonin Scalia.  It states that religious believers and institutions are not entitled to an exemption from generally applicable laws. The Reagan-appointed conservative justice (yes THE Ronald Reagan) authored the majority opinion in the 1990 decision Employment Division v. Smith, a critical precedent to the birth control case, decreeing that religious liberty is insufficient grounds for being exempt from laws.  So the first amendment, freedom of religion argument is not going to fly. Besides the first amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion. In other words – it protects people like me who don’t believe in religion from having it shoved down our throats.  So what does the 1st amendment have ANYTHING to do with contraception and tax payer money?

This is what I do not understand NOR comprehend about what religion says in terms of this argument.  They can say abortion is murder but yet it’s wrong for the tax payers to shell out $40 a month per person to help stop a murder! Is that what your religion teaches you? That it’s okay to be against murder but oh don’t do anything to stop it. Yet we spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on other things that certain religions are against as well but I don’t see anyone making a fuss about it. We spend $1600 of tax payer money a month on HIV meds for ONE PERSON! Why no fuss there? Because the meds go to save a life. That’s right – they do! But wait – so does birth control. Look at in that perspective – it is going to save a life because that person isn’t going to have sex, get pregnant and have an abortion! A life is saved if you believe life begins at conception which is the basis for the pro-life movement. Again you cannot have your cake and eat it too. So I ask again – WHY!

Let’s take the GOP out of the argument for a moment and let me ask  from an Atheist to a Christian – why?  Somebody explain to me the argument because I simply don’t understand.

And this blog is not meant to affend anyone who has faith.  I wish I did.  It would make my life a lot easier, but I don’t.  I just cannot grasp the concept.  But honestly though – if you do agree with what was stated on my facebook page that it is due to religious beliefs that tax payers shouldn’t fund contraception – tell me why?  Why is your religion so against the idea of birth control and yet so for the concept of pro-life?

Again not trying to offend just trying to understand ….

Maybe I Just Needed A Reason To Fight …

Posted by on Friday, Feb 24, 2012, @, 11, pm in Politics | 0 comments

And I think I have found that reason.  His name is Paul Babeu.

We all know my story – the gay Republican who was shunned for being gay.  Then she married a guy and oh guess what – was shunned for having per-marrital sex with a guy who has had sex with guys for the past 10 years prior to marring her!  Oh gotta love “family values!”

We all know the number 1 issue that separates me from being what some call a “true” conservative Republican is the simple fact that I have had sexual intercourse with another woman and frankly – I enjoyed it!  Just cause I married a guy doesn’t mean I still don’t support the LGBT movement and want Taylor Swift as my future wife.

I think it is issue like this that separate people and divide people especially when it comes to the Republican Party and the Republican Party of Mohave County.  Like I said in a prior post, I was loved and adored by the very same people who after they found out I was gay shunned me and hated me for it.

This is the year 2012 and two people – who just happen to be the same sex – who love each other cannot get married in the United States of America (only in select states).  Come on people!  Love is love!

Thankfully my generation seems to grasp the concept of love unlike other generations and thankfully my generation IS WHAT WILL take over the Republican Party and thankfully ONE DAY SOON gay marriage WILL be allowed in ALL fifty states!  I have no doubt by the time I die two people – despite what sex they are – will be able to marry.

As for Babeu’s pictures with his x-lover: have u guys not seen my AOTM Part 2 photo shoot pics?

Due to the content of the rest of this post, I have hid it under a “more” tag.  Please note: The following contains photos NOT approporiate for those under age 16!  You have been warned.  Wanna see some shots from my AOTM Photo Shoot?  Click the “Continue reading” button!

Long Meetings & Crazy Dogs

Posted by on Thursday, Jan 5, 2012, @, 7, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

Well today was a busy day at the office.  I decided this year not to be apart of the Republican Women’s Board for unknown reasons.  Mainly I decided it was someone else’s turn.  Lol!  But anyway the secretary didn’t come to today’s Executive Meeting so I ended up taking the minutes to what turned out to be a 2 hour meeting.  Lol!  Craziness!  But it was fun.  Something to do!  We got a new microwave in the office too!  I didn’t take a pic of it come to think of it – I should have, but either way.  Our old one died!

Anyway beyond that, I’m just having a nice, relaxing night at home.  I decided NOT to go anywhere after work today.  Instead I did my errands BEFORE work!  Lol!  I went to Wal-Mart to get me some lunches for the rest of the week and than to the bank to put in some checks.  I decided I’d rather do my errands before than after.  It just meant 15 minutes LESS on facebook and twitter this morning.  But I lived!

Anyway our dog is INSANE!!  He has been going INSANE for the past 3 days!  Not sure what is up with him.  Maybe he’s mad cause I went back to work.  Lol!  Mommy isn’t home to get up with him at 8 cause we all know Daddy sleeps in until at LEAST 9.  Hehe!  Anyway he’s psycho!    Just look at his eyes!  His eyes say it all!

Anyway tomorrow is Friday!  Yeah!!  Not much planned this weekend.  Just grocery shopping.  Might go up to the Republican Meeting in Bullhead.  Haven’t decided yet!  It’s at 10am on Saturday.  Might go!  Always an excuse to go to Target I suppose.  ::shrugs::  Besides I have to go – just to piss Ron Gould off.  Remember, I’m supposed to be “suing” him or so the rumor was like 3 months ago.  Lol!  Eh, we’ll see if I get up early enough.

Anyway write more laterz!
