Chocolate Martini In A Glass
So Monday night Cory and I treated ourselves to La Veda Dolce. It’s an Italian Bistro here in town which has excellent food!! We had a coupon for 2 entries for $20 and a free appetizer which is a REALLY good deal considering an entrée is like $16 alone. We ordered the stuffed crab mushrooms for our appetizer and then he ordered portabella mushroom ravioli and I ordered lobster ravioli. It was yummy food as always! I tried one of their chocolate martini’s! Omg!
Amazing!! I love that restaurant! The food, the atmosphere and the martinis are amazing! If you live in Havasu and haven’t been there, you are really missing out.
Monday was also the Lake Havasu Republican Women’s luncheon at the Quality Inn. Our speaker was Sheriff Sheahan. He came with his guns and explained to us a little bit about them. President Obama wants to make 30 round “magazines” illegal and allow for 10 rounds in assault rifles. Sheriff Sheahan explained to us that banning them really isn’t going to do anything. It takes less than a second to replace a 10 round magazine with another one. So whether there is a 10 round or a 30 round in a riffle it won’t matter. Also banning rifles won’t matter because hand guns have magazines as well. The point of the entire argument is always this – you can ban guns all you want but at the end of the day you are banning them from honest, law abiding citizens. Do you really think if someone wants to kill somebody or go shoot up a school they won’t find a gun? Of course they will – they will find it illegally. So placing bans on guns ONLY hurt the law abiding citizens. The Sheriff gave an excellent speech. I might have to go look into getting me a gun and a permit. I know … Sarah + gun = disaster. Yeah okay – maybe Cory can go do the whole gun training thing. Lol!
Anyway so Aunt Denise has pneumonia. She is still in the hospital. They are still running tests to see if there is anything else wrong. So if you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers I’d appreciate it.
Anyway beyond that – not much else to update on. Just been working and keeping busy. Doug’s services are Friday. He will truly be missed!
I live you with a video of my crazy dog!! Yeap – he really has officially lost it! I always tell him he sounds like a broken squeaky toy when he makes that funny growing noise! Hehe!
Write more later!

Lets try something somewhat new. A post and photo a day documenting my life. It may somedays just be a photo and small description and others it may be a long post but the point is to post once a day about my day. So lets try this shall we.
Today was spent cleaning – mostly up after the dog lol
And spent telling the dog not to get in the dishwasher
I vacuumed the house with the Dyson vacuum the parents gave us after they got a new one
I started the long process of putting the Xmas decorations away. I got the ornaments off the tree and the knick knacks put away.
And of course I made dinner for my wonderful husband when he got off work at five
And now we r watching The Amazing Spider Man for the 5th time cause every time we try and watch it we fall asleep. Hehe!
Anyway hope u all had a good first day of the New Year!
Read MoreI’m Still Here & The World Didn’t End
Well the world did not end today. : ) I knew it wouldn’t but it’s still fun watching people actually believe it’ll happen. Haha!
Anyway I know I have been absent from here for a while and I really have no reason not to either. I’ve been on vacation almost a week now, but I have been keeping busy on my vaca.
Doing what you ask??
BAKING!!! Yeap – shopping and baking Holiday goodies!! : ) Let’s see I have made chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge, a failed attempt at pumpkin fudge (I give up), cake mix cookies, red and green sugar cookies, peanut butter blossoms and this new hershay’s kisses cookie covered cookie. : ) Don’t worry – Im giving a good 90% of what I make away. Mostly to Cory’s work. He says it gets him kudos points. Which it must cause he was told the other day they are keeping him. YEAH! So Cory has a job! We are happy!! He loves it there too. I am glad.
So we took Duncan to get a bath for the first time the other day. We took him to Vicki’s – where my parents take Rivel and Chico. He didn’t like it and he ran around like a scared cat in the bath tub she said. Hehe! But when he came home he smelt so nice and clean clean. He’ll have to get use to them cause it’s NOW in the budget to get that dog a bath every so many weeks. We don ‘t want a smelly doggy now.
Anyway when the doggy is not chasing the kitty – which will only be with us another week as Kryssi is moving next weekend (sad) – I take pictures of her cause she’s a pretty kitty!!

So we took Kryssi last weekend to upgrade her phone to a 4s. I took some pics of myself in the elf hat while we waited for the upgrade process to complete
We went to JCP too and I bought this new dress and coat (Cory says it’s my early Xmas gift from him! I told him to wrap it and I’d act surprised on Xmas but whatever … lol!)
Anyway best go get ready! I have a big day ahead of me! I have to finish Xmas shopping today, water the plants at the office, meet the parents for lunch at McDonald’s (they brought the McRib back! Yum) and …. get groceries too!
So off I go!!
Laterz!

What Do You Say When Tears Are Streaming Down Your Face?
You should’ve been there,
Should’ve burst through the door,
With that ‘baby I’m right here’ smile,
And it would’ve felt like,
A million little shining stars had just aligned,
And I would’ve been so happy.
Okay so maybe the whole ‘running off to Nashville and becoming some great Country Song Writer’ can be added to Sarah’s stupid list of ideas I am sure they will compile for me one day.
While listening to the new Taylor Swift CD, I have come to the realization that I am not a song writer. I’m a story writer. I could NEVER come up with the lyrics of a song to describe my life. I’m the girl who writes her life into the pages of a story because it’s so drawn out and so dramatic. My life could never fit into a 4 minute song.
Christmas lights glisten,
I’ve got my eye on the door,
Just waiting for you to walk in,
But the time is ticking,
People ask me how I’ve been
As I come back through my memory,
How you said you’d be here,
You said you’d be here.
So in other words – we’re back to the drawing board.
What does Sarah want to do with her life? Writer, politician, actress … ?? Change the world of law and justice? Hmmm …
Maybe somebody one day will pay me to blog. Yeah – that’ll be the day. Huh?
Anyway beside the point, so this weekend was a good one. We got Windows 8 on all our PCs (I’ll write about that later) but I do love it! It was like a “what the hell is this!” moment for a while but then I got use to it.

So I took Duncan to get his nails clipped on Saturday. Oh what a nightmare that was! He was supposed to get them clipped and filed but he was a bad boy and well he DOES NOT like getting his nails done. They had two people holding him down and all they could get was the nails clipped. Ahhh!
We took Duncan to the parents’ house for a bit on Saturday. Then we took him to Aunt Denise’s for a bit with us. It was her Birthday Friday so we took her some flowers and a card.
And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no-one to impress,
And they’re all laughing,
As I’m looking around the room,
But there’s one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.
Then we went to the Cars & Bars Event on Mail Street Saturday night (we didn’t take the dog). It was fun! We got a huge bratwurst and soda. Lol!
Anyway there is this new antique/rare items store on Main Street and it is awesome. I’m usually not into antiques really but they got some nice stuff in there. I even got a Christmas gift for someone while I was there. Lol! I will certainly be going back to that store.

We finally got all caught up on Homeland this week! Well except for the episode that was on last night. I <3 that show!
And the hours pass by,
Now I just wanna be alone,
But your close friends always seem to know
when there’s something really wrong,
So they follow me down the hall,
And there in the bathroom,
I try not to fall apart,
And the sinking feeling starts,
As I say hopelessly,
“He said he’d be here.”
Sunday was cleaning day!! Lol! And ‘finish the laundry day.’ We moved some bookshelves around and the pig cage.
And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no-one to impress,
And they’re all laughing,
And asking me about you,
But there’s one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.
You want to know how I know I’ll never be a song writer? Because I could NEVER write a song as beautiful as this one that Taylor wrote. It describes down to a tea my 23rd birthday party. I could never write a song to top that.
What do you say
When tears are streaming down your face,
In front of everyone you know?
And what do you do when the one
Who means the most to you,
is the one who didn’t show?
You should’ve been here.
And I would’ve been so happy.
So I supposed I shall stick to Affair of the Mind. One day I’ll be famous for that story. That was always the plan right? Make up a story so farfetched no one will ever believe it? Oh but Mr. Lenox if you do decide to move to Nashville and become some big huge hit – I will be your manager. 2015? : )
And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no-one to impress,
And they’re all standing around me singing,
Happy Birthday to you,
But there’s one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.
My favorite part of this song: it’ll fit perfectly on the AOTM Part 3 soundtrack. I don’t know what reason Taylor had to write it, but for me – it’s a chapter of my life.
Ooh, I knew.
You call me later,
And say I’m sorry I didn’t make it.
And I say I’m sorry too,
And that was the moment I knew.

How are you all doing on this Monday evening?
So my weekend started off not so good. I got home from work Friday like I always do. I went to open the door to the back door that leads to our patio and Duncan ran between my legs and down the stairs. He is just far too curious!! We chased that dang mutt for like an hour around the neighbor. He just wouldn’t listen. Finally Cory went and got the car and a squeaky toy and got him to jump into the car. I thought we were going to lose our dog! : ( We are like EXTRA EXTRA careful now when we come home to make sure he can’t sneak between us and down those stairs.
So Saturday after we cleaned the house for a bit, we went down to Petsmart and got him a harness. We want to get a GPS tracker collar but we’ll have to save up some more pennies for that since they are rather expensive. We got him some new toys one being the Kong Toy that you can put Peanut Butter in. Takes dogs hours to get the peanut better out. And we got him a Halloween sweater!!
It’s so cute!! Hehe! We also went to Wal-Mart and did some grocery shopping on Saturday. We had to take the harness we bought back to Petsmart though Sunday cause it didn’t fit him right. We took Duncan with us too! His first trip to the pet store. He did rather good! He’s a great dog! Very good dog actually except sometimes he likes to get out, not listen to you and run around like a mad man but other than that – he’s a great dog.
Sunday night we went over to the parents for Todd’s birthday dinner. We had tacos and Texas Cake (Todd and I’s favorite!). It was good times!
Debbie made it to Blue Springs, Missouri safe and sound last night. So she’s there!! I am sure it’ll take a while for her to settle in but she’s there safely which is good.
So I started watching Homeland. I LOVE THAT SHOW! It’s awesome!! Cory told me to hurry with season 1 so we can start watching season 2. lol! I am hoping to watch the Season Finale of Season 1 tonight and then we can move onto Season 2. It’s a really good show and I recommend watching it. It really gets into the life of politics, CIA, government, foreign policy … it’s an awesome show.
Well anyway that was our weekend!!
Going to the candidates’ debate tonight for a bit at the High School. Should be interesting!!
Talk to u all laterz!

Duncan Hines
So we took the doggie to the dog park this weekend

He loved it! He got to run around and explore everything. Hehe!
Lucy and him are so cute together at times

They are both going to be so sad when the 12th comes. That’s the day Lucy and Debbie leave to go to Missouri but It’ll be ok. Lucy is on to a new adventure and Duncan still has the pigs. Lol

Gotta love the Duncan Hines! He really has been a good dog so far. Gets into the trash at times but other then that he’s a good doggie.
A Rainy Day Update
As I sit here writing this entry, I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz about to swept away by the tornado. I tell you, Lake Havasu has had some crazy storms this year so far. We’re about to be hit by another one any minute now. The wind is crazy out there! Glad I’m inside. There’s a big storm coming down from Needles about to hit us any minute now. Crazy times I tell you! Crazy!
Anyway not much new to the report on the home front. I started going to the gym last week.
I went Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings before work and then this week I went Tuesday (I plan to go again tomorrow). I’m enjoying it I must say. I try and get there right at five am when they open. I do the treadmill for about 25 minutes while I watch Fox News. The last two times I have been subject to watching one of Ron Gould’s stupid commercials while I work out (so glad when the Primary is over! Oh and I know this isn’t very Republican of me but NO I will not be supporting Gould if he wins the Primary but he won’t win. Gosar is so going to win!). After the Treadmill, I do my arm lifts (yes I just made the assumption that I lift weights with my arm and it’s true!) and my ab workout. It’s fun! I am enjoying it!
Beyond that though – not much is going on. Debbie is staying with us for a few days while we clean up her old apartment and she prepares to move. Which means the Lu Lu Head is with us too! We had BBQ Ribs on Sunday night and Lucy got her first taste of a real bone!!
Anyway beyond that – not much! I know – boring huh? No new juicy drama to report … well there’s always juicy drama to report but if I reported it then what would I have to write about in After the Affair. Haha!!
No seriously life is actually going pretty good at the moment.
Well talk to ya all laterz!

Gotta love the pigs!

So I have never in my life had to take back an animal. But today we took Batty back because at the end of the day he was just more than either one of us could handle, he was far too aggressive and too financially expensive. The last not being that big of a deal. We would have found the $$ but as much as it hurt us both to do it we know it’s for the best. He needs a home that can handle him. We just couldn’t do it.
When we first got the dog he was actually really well behaved for a puppy. He was mellow, never barked, and hardly tore up a thing when we left. So I don’t know if it’s something we did, or he just got bored with us but as a month turned into two he became aggressive, he would bark at 3am until you got up and played with him, and as much as we tried we could never get him potty trained. I would play with him, take him for a walk, and it wasn’t good enough.
He was cute, adorable, he had his moments, and I do love him! It was one of the hardest choices I think Cory and I have ever had to make, but we just couldn’t do it anymore. When Debbie was watching him a while back, the dog almost attacked Andrew, he scared Brooke out of the house (not sure that’s a bad thing hehe) and has snapped at far too many people. He gave Cory a “purple” eye and I think I have more scratched from the dog than anything.
This wasn’t something we just decided to do. We have talked about it a lot. I just haven’t mentioned it before. We just keep saying ‘he’s just a puppy, it’ll get better’ but it never did. I was laying in bed last night watching American Idol and the dog just comes on the bed barking at me and growling for no reason at all. I ended up kicking him out and closing the door.
The truth being told we shouldn’t have gotten that big of a dog for the size of our place and our lack of a yard. But we did.
I feel bad. I didn’t want to take him back, but at the end of the day he deserves more. He deserves a family who can give him the attention he deserves and the life he wants. Maybe Cory and I did something wrong in the way we raised him or maybe he just got bored with us. I am not sure. But we couldn’t risk him hurting somebody or one of us. So we did what we had to do. Granted it hurt but I think for everybody it was the best choice.
He’s six months old, cute, and will find a lovely family.
Has anyone ever had to take back an animal that didn’t work out? I feel like I’m the only one in the world! But then I was talking to my friend today and he said to me “Ed’s bird” and then I remember – that damn bird! I had a friend who had a parrot and he LOVED that damn bird. He had it for almost a year and he gave it up because circumstances changed and he had no other choice. And then Jar was like “think of all those other animals who are around 1 to 2 years old at the shelter. Someone had to give them up too because they didn’t work out.” He made me realize I wasn’t alone.
It still doesn’t hurt as less and I’m going to miss him, but at the end of the day I just have to believe we did the right thing.

The Puppy Dog Gets A Bath
First & foremost, I’d like you all to go check out my new site layout if you’re reading this via a reader! I really like my new layout! I did it in anticipation for Valentine’s Day, but I like it so much it just might stick around till after Vday has come and gone. What are you opinions on it?
Anyway we gave the puppy dog a bath today! He was pretty good considering it’s a puppy dog and bath. Lol! He loves drinking water though and jumping in the lake so you think a bath would be no problem. haha! It wasn’t too bad. Anyway I managed to get some on video:
and some photos as well:

A Loss For Words – Day 8
Well I said I’d write everyday in this blog in 2012! So here is Day 8′s post, but I am at a loss for words. Not much happened today. We were going to take the dog for a walk at the park but it was way too windy! My hair was everywhere today! Lol! So it turned into a lazy Sunday which isn’t bad, but doesn’t leave me very much room to blog about anything.
Cory and I signed up for a free trial of Hulu Plus cause our DVR didn’t record Hell’s Kitchen: Top 4 episode correctly last night. Hulu had Hell’s Kitchen on it. So we watched the top 4 and than the finale. I have never sat down and watched that show before Cory got me into it. Now I <3 it! Can’t wait for the new season! I have to say – glad Elise didn’t win and Paul did! Elise was just way too ‘all about herself.’ Lol! But anyway, Hulu is pretty neat. I think Netflix offers more in terms of movies. However Netflix keeps raising their prices and now won’t let two people stream a tv show at once on different devices and it’s pisses everyone off. So I think what we’ll do is split the cost with Cory’s mom – one of us pays for Netflix and the other Hulu and we can trade off. Hulu doesn’t limit device streaming. : )
Anyway beyond that – I did laundry and Cory cleaned the house a bit. Batty took naps on and off all day cause he’s a lazy mut!
We finally weighed Batty on the WiiFit. He weights just under 50 pounds! Damn dog is HUGE for six-seven months old! Oya! So much for a puppy dog!
I made Turkey Goulash for dinner & Cory helped make Peach Cobbler! Yummy! The goulash was good even though there were a BIT too many tomatoes in it for my liking, but it was still yummy!
Anyway not much else to rant and rave on!
Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday!

A Day Of Shopping – Day 7
Well today I went grocery shopping! My first stop was Smiths! They had a lot of good deals at Smiths this week so I decided to go there instead of just ad matching at Walmart. I got stuff like tuna, buy one get one free bagels and even got Cory a little surprise – Flipz! Yum!
Anyway, after Smiths I went to Petsmart. I had to get the pigs some bedding. They had all their Xmas toys on sale so I picked up the dog a little Xmas ornament toy. He <3′s it!
So before Christmas I kept looking EVERYWHERE for a 2011 ornament. We got one for 2010 so we wanted to keep with tradition and get an ornament that said 2011 on it. I went before Christmas to find one and could never find it. I thought the tradition of getting a new ornament each year with the year on it was toast until today. I went to Petsmart and they had ornaments that said 2011 on them! Now granted the dog doesn’t look EXACTLY like Batty, but hey it’s close enough! : )
After Petsmart it was off to Wal-Mart! I decided to take my pink Iphone survivor case back and get the Otter Box case. Cory traded his in last week for one and even though they are 10 bucks more they are worth the extra money. The stand is better & the camera isn’t covered up. I like it much better! So I got a pink and white case. So I finally traded phones with Cory. So now I have a white Iphone and he got the black one! I <3 it!
We switched so I had to do an Icloud backup of all my old settings. It is STILL backing up! It’s taking forever! Ahhh! Lol!
So never send a girl to Wal-Mart by herself! If I had the extra $$ I would have gotten it. But either way – THIS is what I want for Valentine’s Day! ::hint hint::

If we actually HAD the $$, I would ask Cory for this!
but I’ll just put it on my wish list! Hehe!
Anyway after exchanging my case I went and got the remainder of my groceries. The usual like chicken, fish, ground turkey and other stuff to make meals with for the month. After Wal-Mart I went and got gas, got Cory his cigs, and went home.
Cooked tuna helper for dinner. It was late by the time I got home so I didn’t feel like cooking a major meal. Then I cleaned my pigs cage. We watched Blue Blood and now here I am typing this blog!
Fun times!
Tomorrow we are taking the puppy dog to the park! : ) He’ll like that.
Alright Laterz,

Ps: No I did not attend the PC meeting in Bullhead in case you are wondering. Didn’t get up in time. ::shrugs:: Oh well! : )
Read MoreLong Meetings & Crazy Dogs
Well today was a busy day at the office. I decided this year not to be apart of the Republican Women’s Board for unknown reasons. Mainly I decided it was someone else’s turn. Lol! But anyway the secretary didn’t come to today’s Executive Meeting so I ended up taking the minutes to what turned out to be a 2 hour meeting. Lol! Craziness! But it was fun. Something to do! We got a new microwave in the office too! I didn’t take a pic of it come to think of it – I should have, but either way. Our old one died!
Anyway beyond that, I’m just having a nice, relaxing night at home. I decided NOT to go anywhere after work today. Instead I did my errands BEFORE work! Lol! I went to Wal-Mart to get me some lunches for the rest of the week and than to the bank to put in some checks. I decided I’d rather do my errands before than after. It just meant 15 minutes LESS on facebook and twitter this morning. But I lived!
Anyway our dog is INSANE!! He has been going INSANE for the past 3 days! Not sure what is up with him. Maybe he’s mad cause I went back to work. Lol! Mommy isn’t home to get up with him at 8 cause we all know Daddy sleeps in until at LEAST 9. Hehe! Anyway he’s psycho!
Just look at his eyes! His eyes say it all!
Anyway tomorrow is Friday! Yeah!! Not much planned this weekend. Just grocery shopping. Might go up to the Republican Meeting in Bullhead. Haven’t decided yet! It’s at 10am on Saturday. Might go! Always an excuse to go to Target I suppose. ::shrugs:: Besides I have to go – just to piss Ron Gould off. Remember, I’m supposed to be “suing” him or so the rumor was like 3 months ago. Lol! Eh, we’ll see if I get up early enough.
Anyway write more laterz!

That Dog
So Cory and I went out for my pre-birthday dinner tonight at the Wing Place. I <3 that restaurant! They give u a $20 gift certificate for your birthday. So we went and used it. It was half off appetizers till 7. So we got onion rings and pretzels and than an order of honey bbq wings. Yummy! Bill came to $20.87! Haha! Not bad!! I also got my pre-birthday cake too may I add!
The pictures does NOT do the cake justice! The cake was AMAZING!!!
Anyway so we came home to see what the dog got into this time. Usually it’s the garbage. What is with puppies and garbage cans? Especially when they pull out the used tissues with snot all over them. Yuck! But this time we were smart and put all the garbages up.
So guess what he got into this town? We came home to find this on the floor! How he managed to break the coffee mug that I left sitting on the coffee table is BEYOND me! He had to of slung it up against the wall or something …
I tell ya that dog …
Lesson learned – DON’T leave ANYTHING sitting on the coffee table when we leave!
Read MoreCoke & Love – v7
Coke & Love is based off of Wine and Love hosted by Nora! But because I really don’t like wine – I am calling it “Coke & Love” because I am addicted to Diet Coke. It’s where you share your weekly wines (or beer, liquor, soda- whatever your beverage preference is) and then your loves since last Thursday.
If you want to participate in Wine and Love (or whatever else you feel like calling it) you can link up to the serious on Nora’s site.
Things that are making me reach for the my bottle of Diet Coke …
This weather!! Yes I am still bitching about the weather and honestly you guys should just get use to me bitching about it until summer arrives!
R.I.P – Blueberry! Our blue fish died! : ( ::sigh::
It’s my birthday on Sunday and usually that makes me happy but I don’t know …. it’s like I’m turning 25 and I’m starting to question where I’m at in my life. Besides the fact, I’m married to Cory and loving being his wife – so much else is just not where I thought it would be when I turned 25. I have a college degree I honestly don’t know what to do with. I thought I wanted to be a psychiatrist so I am contemplating going back to school for a psych degree, but honestly I don’t even believe in the whole concept of psychiatry so how can I even justify wanting to go get a degree in it? It seems every friend I have has turned their back on me, disappointed me, or betrayed me. I guess when I was 18 and having this bright future ahead of me with all these crazy, insane dreams I swore I would accomplish … I woke up one day and realized when you’re 18 ANYTHING is possible and you can get away with anything, but once reality sits in by the time you turn 25 you realize … life isn’t a story you can write the pages too.
Which brings me to my next point – Brooke. I don’t know what to do with her anymore. I want to slap her and force her to snap out of this mess she has somehow gotten herself into. Ya know you would think after years of sitting there and watching what people like Jared did to me and others that she would want nothing to do with anyone like them, yet here she is. She lied this week about 1) visiting her dad and getting $$ for rent and 2) that she had $150 on her food stamp card for Debbie to buy food with when in reality she had $25. She lies and lies and lies. I honestly don’t know what else to do anymore except take legal action. Maybe had someone actually had the god damn guts back in high school to take legal action against what happened … well … maybe Affair of the Mind NEVER would have been written. Oh wait – I forgot – I tried to take action and no one believed me! Haha! Gotta love karma! But I don’t know what to do with Brooke anymore … it’s like she just doesn’t care. Everything that she once held so dear to her no longer matters and all that matters is pleasing her so called ‘new’ friend. Wow! I feel like I’m having daja vu and our lives swapped. I was that girl once – the girl who gave up family and friends for a guy who promised me the world and gave me nothing in return. I was her. But just cause I was her once doesn’t make it right for her to turn around and be me. Does it?
Things that I’m loving this week…
So last Friday Cory and I went to the Avi in Laughlin (or is it in Bullhead … hmmm) and tried their All You Can Eat Seafood buffet! It was amazing!! $13.95 was so worth every penny! The Aqaurious wanted $25 a person! Screw that! I don’t have that kind of $$. lol! Besides the Avi is closer anyway. But amazing food! Now I haven’t quit mastered how to eat crab legs. Honestly it’s too difficult if you ask me and not worth it for what little meat you actually end up getting. Why people pay over $25 in restaurants for them is beyond me. But they were okay – just hard to ‘crack.’ Lol! My favorite is Crab Cakes! Yum!
BTW – I got off work early on Friday and look what I came home too! Our 1st Wedding Anniverary was on Sunday but we celebrated it a bit early on Friday last week.
On Saturday I had to go to Yucca to judge the Yucca Veteran’s Day Parade for my boss! Cory came with! I judged along with two other people. It was fun! This is the float that won for “Most Patriotic”
and of course Smokey won for most funniest entry
It was fun times!
Afterwords we went to find this property Cory’s family owns outside Yucca! It’s in the middle of NO WHERE! It might be worth something in say like 50 years but right now it’s in the middle of NO WHERE, near a junk yard and well … it’s in the middle of NO WHERE! His grandparents bought the land a long time ago thinking it would be developed out there into a housing community, and also thinking it was by Lake Havasu. Yeahhhh … they got tricked into that one. Nothing ever became of it. Than again a lot of people bought land with the assumption it would be turned into a housing development. A housing development that never became of anything.
We got new fishy!! Nick & Noel and than Simon, Theodore and Alvin! And not to jinx it but they all seem to be doing fine! : )
On Sunday, Cory and I took Batty to see Lucy at his mom’s house. Lucy is scared of Batty yet not scared of Rivel which is 2x as big! Lol! Batty is a puppy though. It’s funny! Lucy won’t come down off the bed or couch when Batty is there. : ( Poor Lucy! Debbie took this pic of Cory and the dogs. They are so cute together! I <3 this pic!
We also introduced Batty to Rivel at my parent’s house (Oh and Edward, the cat!) and also Avery at Aunt Denise’s. Good times!
Debbie gave us a $25 gift certificate to Mudsharks for our anniversary. So we went there and ate on Tuesday. I got their BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and Cory got fish and chips! It was yummy!

Coke & Love – v6
Coke & Love is based off of Wine and Love hosted by Nora! But because I really don’t like wine – I am calling it “Coke & Love” because I am addicted to Diet Coke. It’s where you share your weekly wines (or beer, liquor, soda- whatever your beverage preference is) and then your loves since last Thursday.
If you want to participate in Wine and Love (or whatever else you feel like calling it) you can link up to the serious on Nora’s site.
Things that are making me reach for the my bottle of Diet Coke …
This weather!! Yes I am still bitching about the weather! I hate it! It got down to below 70 for a high yesterday! Brrr! Oh, and FYI – I hate the wind too!
Candy Corn (our fish) died on Halloween! At least he made it to Halloween though! Poor guy! We will miss you Candy Corn!
I <3 Batty (we changed the dog’s name to Bat Man aka: Batty because it suits him better. He has bat ears!
Hence the name: Batty) but he is annoying at times. He thinks he is a lap dog when he is not a lap dog. He’s way too big to be a lap dog. Batty is like a little kid. He won’t let you sleep past 8am on the weekends. I <3 Batty though. Just getting use to him – that’s all.
Things that I’m loving this week…
We are finally caught up on the AT&T bill! So happy!
I was just informed I can get my upgrade to an Iphone 4s sooner than I thought! So excited! I’ll have to wait till my tax return comes in February but still … that’s better than next November! Wooo! AT&T Loves me!
I went to the LGBT Halloween Party last Friday with Brookie. It was fun times! It was nice to see old friends again. I posted pics of the event on my Wordless Wednesday post. Check it out!
Pumpkins & anything pumpkin!!! Check out my Pumpkin Filled Weekend blog to see just how MUCH I <3 all things Pumpkin!
I got my first web design project with Sue’s homeowners association. So excitied! I can’t wait to work on it this weekend!
Speaking of Weekend – it’ll be a busy one! Cory and I are celebrating our 1 year Anniversary on Friday by going to the Aquarius in Laughlin for Seafood night. Saturday I have the Yucca Parade for Buster and than I need to work on the Home Owners website. It’ll all be fun though! Fun times! Don’t worry – I’ll take pics!
Anyway beyond that, there were more loves than cokes this week! : ) Always a good thing.

This weather!! It’s windy & cold out! I know to some 77 may not be cold, but to a girl who loves it when it’s 110 outside – 77 is freezing! I <3 summer and spring and warmth! I don’t like cold!
And with cold comes allergies. I think I have been living off of Sudafed for like 2 weeks now. I woke up yesterday and my eye was all puffy! I have come to the conclusion that it’s not the pigs that I am allergic to. My eye was doing fine for a while. I think it’s the change in weather and just my allergies in general. Once I put hot water and some cordizone cream on it, I’m fine. But yesterday was bad.
Along with allergies, my back has been killing me lately! Can a girl have a heart attack at 24? I woke up today with horrible chest pains and an aching back. I took a nice hot shower and it went away, but it’s still scary waking up and not being able to breath from sharp pains in your back and chest.
Maybe it’s a 24 thing? I use to be a really healthy person, but lately I just feel blah. I can’t seem to get my ball of energy back. I try everything from drugs to glasses of Mt. Dew and nothing seems to help. I am at that point where I have no idea what to do! But I try not to let it get to me. There are those that go through life sick all the time. You kind of want to feel sorry for them, but honestly it’s like the sickness controls their life. Yeah I don’t feel good. I haven’t really for like 2 weeks, but I’m not going to sit here and let it ruin my day. I have a job and stuff to do. I’m 24 years old and I refuse to waste my life away being sick 24/7 and laying in bed all the time. I refuse! So sick or not – I’m going to get up and continue on with my life. Fuck you sickness! : ) It’s mind over matter – that’s my motto and always will be.
We had 4 fish die this week from Ick disease! : (
Things that I’m loving this week…
On a positive note – we still have FIVE fish! And Blueberry seems to be doing okay. He has ick a bit, but he’s full of energy! So hopefully he’ll stay strong and hang in there! Poor guy!
We got our dog, Milkshake, this week! I <3 Milkshake! He’s a big baby and runs whenever he hears a noise outside, but other than that he’s a good dog. He really is well behaved for a puppy! Sure he has his moments of being a bit too hyper when it’s 10 o’clock at night, but he does know what the word ‘no’ means.
Tomorrow is the LGBT Halloween Party in Havasu! I have decided to go. It’s time to put the past behind us and move on. I am hoping there is no drama at this party and peace can be had. If not, Brooke and I can always go to BJ’s and just get drunk! : )

Welcome Home Milkshake
Milkshake is the funniest dog! He is also a BIG baby! I took him out to go to the bathroom at 6am today. He usually goes #1 but not #2. So anyway we didn’t even make it to the playground today. Usually he will go to the bathroom behind the playground equipment in our apartment complex. But he didn’t make it that far today. He went #1 but than our neighbor’s came outside and than the air conditioner kicked out and he high tailed it right up those stairs and wanted nothing more to do with the outdoors. He is a BIG baby! So much for a gaurd dog! LoL! But he’s a cute baby!
He can’t quit make it up on our bed. His legs just aren’t long enough. So Cory has to pick him up and put him on the bed.
Here’s a picture of Milkshake thinking he can take over Mommy’s side of the bed. I think not!

Anyway I went to the store and got him the biggest bone they had. It’s a knee knuckle bone. Well it’s a BIT too big for him, but he’ll grow into it:

So Cory and I
took Milkshake to the lake the other day. He loved it!! He went crazy! He was all running around and smelling everything.
Anyway Cory was down by the water and called him and Milkshake went running down towards him and just went straight in the water. I’m not really sure if Milkshake KNEW what he was running into, but it was funny as hell!
On the way home we told him he was not allowed to even think about trying to climb into the front of the truck! Lol!
He’s so cute!
