The Abuse Must Stop

Posted by on Friday, Mar 15, 2013, @, 9, pm in Politics | 0 comments

The Arizona House of Representatives last week approved HB2648. Well they approved a gutted version of the bill. The House passed an amendment to the bill that took the Sheriff’s office out of the process. Now if the bill passes the Senate and gets signed into law by the Governor the Board of Supervisors must hire a police administrator to go in there and assess the problem and try and solve it. Kind of like how the Board of Supervisors hired an administrator for the Mohave Ranchos Fire District back in February. Kind of like that. The bill also now states that every police department will get a clean slate the day this bill is made law. So now all those years of abuse and corruption by the Colorado City Marshall’s office is going to mean nothing. The State of Arizona is ONCE again turning a blind eye to the abuse of women and children.

You know I don’t care if Doris Goodale is a Republican. I heard through the Grapevine that some fellow Republicans feel that those of us who openly state that we will go after Doris in the next election make us bad Republicans for doing so. I don’t care. I will openly state it – I will vote Democrat before I EVER vote for Doris Goodale. For her to stand there on the House Floor and state that Colorado City is doing fine under the Marshall’s office and for her to state that polygamy is just misunderstood and that Colorado City is doing so much better because Warren Jeffs is in jail makes me sick!

The Lake Havasu Republican Women had Flora Jessop come and speak this past Monday. There was not a dry eye in the room when she got up there and spoke about how her sister’s kids (who may I remind you all just got out of Colorado City a little over two months ago) are afraid to take a bath because from his prison cell Warren Jeffs requires now that the father is the only one who can bathe the children. Her sister’s 2 year old was water boarded so bad that it has taken two months for her to get use to a cold wash cloth on her face.

Flora explained that Jeffs has a code. He knows when he calls that the authorities are listening and recording his phone conversations. So a code is made up so when he gives his orders no one understands them except the fundamentalists in Colorado City.

Some of the more recent rulings he has made:

  • There are no sexual relations to occur between husband and wife(s). You can hold hands for 2 seconds and that is it. But don’t for a minute think sex is not happening in that town. Sex is not happening between husband and wife. So the sexual abuse and rape happening between father and child I am sure has doubled or tripled to that of what it used to be. Oh but wait – Goodale said all is well in Colorado City.
  • Children are allowed to eat only beans and water. And all food must come from the local store up there. When the kids got out they would ask “is this food approved?” because all food had to be approved. They also would ask if it came from the local store. They told the kids no but it was okay to eat. They have finally stopped asking. Oh and the kids will not eat beans. I don’t blame them.
  • Milk is forbidden.
  • All the money these families get on food stamps is to be spent and all food is to be fed to the animals
  • Each day Jeffs will call in and give his orders for the day. He calls in to a main line with an answering machine and each family is to call in on a separate line to hear the message.

But all has changed in Colorado City? Right?

And to show you that the Marshall’s Office is corrupt – Flora’s sister has been trying for over twelve years to escape Colorado City. She has been escorted (kidnapped is what I call it) by the Marshall’s office to as far away as Canada to avoid Flora finding her. But wait – the Marshall’s in Colorado City are not corrupt? Or at least that’s what Goodale wants you think.

Doris I hope you and I never meet face to face again because the words I have to say to you will not be pretty.

It makes me angry and sad to know that abuse like this is happening right here in our own backyard. I will never forget when I first heard about Colorado City and the abuse going on up there. I was 18 years old, just out of high school and the only reason I even knew about it was because I worked for one of the only politicians who over the past 16 years has tried to do something about the abuse in Colorado City. I remember reading the news articles and reports going “wait what? This is happening here?” It is. Right here. Right here in the United States of America, in the State of Arizona, and in the County of Mohave. We have abuse, we have rape, we have an entire community who worships a child abuser and would go so far as to being brainwashed to think that marrying 14 years olds off to men in their 40’s is okay. We have a community who will only feed their children beans and water because that’s what their profit said to do. Yes people – right here THAT is happening in the State of Arizona and ONCE again the State is going to turn a blind eye to it and give them a clean slate.

So if saying I’d vote Democrat over voting for a Republican, who openly supports that kind of practice in that community, makes me a horrible person – then so be it.

Something must be done about Colorado City and it’s time people wake up and see that! It’s the year 2013! Are we as a nation really going to allow the abuse and rape to continue? They abuse and rape these women and children all in the name of God! For all you who faith in a higher power, I’d be pretty upset right now knowing that some guy who is in prison is dictating orders to an entire community, and brainwashing them into thinking this type of abuse is okay and he is doing so ALL in the name of God? Realy?!! Come on people!

The fight against the abuse of women and children in Colorado City is not a Republican vs Democrat issue. It’s an issue of moral and it’s an issue of doing what is right.

So I encourage all who read this – whether you live in Arizona, Montana, California, Alaska, or anywhere – pass the word on. It’s time this Country knew what was happening in Colorado City. It’s time that the people know that the abuse didn’t end with Jeffs it ONLY got worse. Pass the message on so that Colorado City is known to all! It is unacceptable that we allow the abuse and corruption of Colorado City and the FLDS Church to continue in the United States today! So who is with me?

Who To Vote For – Arizona House & Senate Edition Part 2

Disclaimer: The following views and opinions expressed DO NOT represent the views or opinions of the Mohave County Republican Central Committee OR the Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Club.  The following views and opinions are that of Sarah A. Hall!  The following is writen in her view and her view ONLY and does NOT represent the view of ANY organization or business she is involved in.  Reader discretion is advised.

Oh and yeah and one more thing to ALL candidates: it’s an election year: my opinions are NOT politically correct and sometimes aren’t very nice either.  If you can’t handle it: honestly you SHOULD NOT be in politics!

I feel I need to have a Part 2 to the House part of what I originally wrote anyway.  Click here to read the original post.  With that said, I do believe I have decided on whom to vote for in the Arizona House of Representatives Race.

In my last post, I said ANYBODY but Goodale.  And that DOES still stand.  I’d rather see any of the other three but her; however, there is one person I am personally voting for.  I know in this race we get to pick two but at the moment I am picking one.  I don’t know enough about Wyatt Brooks to vote for him so I’d rather just not vote for him.

With that said I have decided the ONE person I am voting for in this race is George Schnittgrund.  He may have a shady past but come on – don’t we ALL!  I went to juvi for two weeks in high school! Come on now!  So why am I voting for him?  Because he has always been pleasant and nice not to mention he actually knows the law and doesn’t violate campaign law like Borrelli.

Why I won’t vote for Borrelli?  He’s a dick.  He was completely arrogant the other night at Johnson’s Spaghetti dinner in my personal opinion.  Does he honestly think he’s better than everyone because he’s a former ‘city councilmember?’   He acts like he’s the top dog in the race when honestly he’s not.

George has always been nice and pleasant and in my book that goes a long way which is why I am throwing my support to him and at the moment – ONLY HIM – for Arizona House District 5.

Hypocrisy At The House Level Should Not Transfer To The Senate

Posted by on Wednesday, Jun 13, 2012, @, 6, pm in Politics | 0 comments

Yes I do realize I am going to get yelled at yet again for writing this but …. I don’t care!!!

So Monday was the monthly Lake Havasu Republican Women’s luncheon, and our guest speaker was none other than Mrs. Nancy McLain – candidate for Arizona State Senate and current State Representative.

So before I begin maybe we all need a little background story (I love background stories!) – in the April edition of the LHRW Newsletter I wrote an article on SB1433 (the bill that would have replaced the corrupt Colorado City Police Department with Mohave County Sheriff Deputies).  Yes, I did state names.  I did state that our own state representatives (Mrs. McLain and Mrs. Goodale) voted no on the bill.  It was my article, my opinion and my right to do so.

Side note – why is it that I always get in trouble for writing articles in newsletters?  ::shrugs::

But anyway so at Monday’s meeting it was brought up that “while I was entitled to my opinion” she felt it unfair she didn’t get her side of the argument stated.  Well is that not what you were up there supposed to be doing on Monday?  If people really cared to hear your side of the argument, they’d of researched it or would have gone to the meeting.  Case in point – you’re a politician.  Your record is public, your opinion was very public, and yes I am entitled to my opinion!  And if you can’t handle someone (like little old me – who may I add most people don’t listen to anyway) stating their opinion – then maybe you picked the wrong career field.

Anyway besides the point – so her argument for not supporting SB1433 was because it’s “unconstitutional” to pass “special” legislation.  In her opinion SB1433 was considered the “Colorado City” bill and was specific and directed at Colorado City and ONLY Colorado City.  While the bill would have had a major impact on Colorado City, it also could have effected other towns like Quartzsite as well.  Not to mention in general it’s just good legislation to have in place.  If you have a corrupt police force LIKE Colorado City – there should be measures in place to get rid of it.

Anyway so let’s for arguments sack take Nancy’s augment that it was “special” legislation and that’s why she voted no.  Well someone asked her a question at the meeting regarding HB2702 which she refereed to as the “Buckskin” bill.  This bill was brought up because Buckskin needed a way to come up with funds to pay for badly needed infrastructure.  The story behind HB2702 is that Buckskin did not qualify for a financial assistance loan through the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA). WIFA is an independent agency of the state of Arizona, and is authorized to finance the construction, rehabilitation and/or improvement of many drinking water, waste-water, and other water quality facilities.  Because Buckskin was a sanitary district they did not qualify for the loan.  So they petitioned the legislature to write up and pass HB2702 which would then allow them to enter into and perform a financial assistance loan repayment agreement with WIFA and also would exempts sanitary districts from voter requirements for WIFA planning and design loans.

Does this NOT sound like “special” legislation to you?  Granted this legislation MAY help some other sanitary district in the future, but at this moment in time it was directly targeted for Buckskin.   Now by all means, I agree with HB2702.  I agree Buckskin should be able to get this loan.  It was rather stupid just because of ONE SMALL thing (like being a sanitary district and not a waste water treatment facility – which was is the difference?) they couldn’t get a loan.  However the point is still the same – it IS special legislation in the same way (according to Nancy) SB1433 was.  Is it not?

So how can Nancy vote and put her total support behind HB2702 yet not behind SB1433?   I think there is more to the story of you voting no, Mrs. McLain.

Like the title says: I do not think we need to take the hypocrisy from the House and put it in the Senate.  Which is why I will not be voting for Nancy in the August 2012 Primary.

Who To Vote For – Arizona House & Senate Edition

Posted by on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, @, 7, pm in Politics | 0 comments

Well it’s that time of year again!!  The signature process is FINALLY over and we can finally get down to business!  And you all know what that means right?  It is time to sit down, go over the issues, and figure out who we are going to vote for in August.

Every election cycle I sit down and do my “Who to vote for” series where I give you MY opinion on who to vote for.  I supposed I should put in this disclaimer as to not piss off Ms. Fremont this year (opps sorry it’s Mrs. Fremont isn’t it?  Ah, whatever!).  Wouldn’t want a repeat of 2010 where I was accused of being such a horrible person for giving out MY views on the election on my OWN PERSONALLY WEBSITE!  So here is MY disclaimer:

Anyway so I’d like to start my “Who to vote for” series with the Arizona House of Representatives and Senate candidates.  Now please note – I am a registered Republican.  All the candidates I am going to go over ARE Republicans.  If you want a rundown of Democratic candidates – well maybe you should read a Democrats blog!

The Arizona House of Representatives

Well our good old Nancy McLain is termed out this year.  So you will not see her name on the ballot for Arizona House (however you will see it for Arizona Senate but we’ll get to that later).

So the candidates are as followed: Doris Goodale (incumbent), George Schnittgrund, Wyatt Brooks, and Sonny Borrelli.

There are two positions open so you can vote for two people.  Honestly, I have no idea who to vote for.

After seeing our current Representative Doris Goodale vote down SB1433 this last session in regards to Colorado City and Polygamy, I can honestly not vote for her again.  To hear the words come out of her mouth that “polygamy is not illegal” just made me lose all respect for the woman.  Polygamy is illegal and it is stated in the Arizona Constitution that it is.  But apparently Mrs. Goodale does not know her own constitution.  Either way, Mrs. Goodale will never receive a yes vote from me again and she shouldn’t receive it from you either.  I say no on Goodale.

As for this George Schnittgrund character: I have met him.  Not sure I’d vote for him.  He’s got some shady stuff in his past from stalking charges to warrants out for his arrest.  Granted we all have a shady past.  I have my own.  I guess one good aspect he does have going for him is he is from Havasu.  Goodale is a Kingman native, and honestly I don’t trust those Kingman natives.  The representation should come from here.  We are after all the biggest of the three cities.  However, I don’t know much about this George character.  He doesn’t have a website and his facebook is private!  If you’re going to run for office at least have a website or public facebook account.  Either way, according to news articles I have read he has been here 10 years and is a PC.  It’s true he is a Precinct Committeeperson but he has NOT been one for ten years.  He just joined in 2010.  I really hate it when people just all of a sudden ‘decide’ one day to get involved.  Where were you five years ago?  Obviously not involved.  I mean don’t get me wrong – that’s awesome that you care now, but don’t act like you have ‘always’ cared and have ‘always’ been involved when in all out reality you have NOT!  Either way – he owns a business, is from Havasu, and besides the shady past thing seems like an ‘okay’ guy.  I’d vote for him over Doris, but I can’t say for sure he has my vote.

Sonny Borrelli – Another Havasu native!  Actually he served on city council … for not even a full term!  See that’s what gets me!  He can’t even fulfill a FULL term on the city council and he wants to be our next State Rep?  Really?  And THEN to top it off – he doesn’t resign prior to 30 days before signatures are due.  He knew a LONG time ago he was going to run for this position so he should have resigned THEN because then the people of Havasu could have voted for who they wanted to replace him.  As it turns out, now it’s up to the Mayor and current council to appoint somebody to extend out Borrelli’s term.  He knew he was going to run a good two months ago – he should have resigned then so the PEOPLE of Havasu got to have a vote in who replaces him.  I really have an issue with the fact he didn’t sit out one whole term as our city council representative.  For that reason – he may have lost my vote.  I look at it like this – if you want a job and you run for said job and you get elected – you better DO that job not bail on it half way through the term.  But hey one good thing about Borrelli – he has a public facebook!

As for Wyatt Brooks – I honestly don’t know a damn thing about the guy!  Who?  Wyatt?  Huh?  Never met him!  He is a PC.  Became one in 2010 like George.  Yeah gotta love those that decide to run and then ‘oh I think I’m going to get involved now!’  Honestly I don’t know anything about this guy.  He has a public facebook though.  :shrugs:

So who to vote for?  I guess anybody but Goodale!  : )  Because honestly Sonny, Wyatt or George would be a better choice.

The Arizona Senate

“Senator Gould is termed out” – music to my ears!  Unfortunately now he’s running for U.S. House of Representatives!  Eh!

So the candidates for Arizona Senate are as followed: Nancy McLain, Sam Scarmardo, Kelli Ward.

Nancy McLain why would I vote for you?  Anyone who voted against SB1433 does NOT get my vote!  Not to mention your little hissy fit over my opinion article in the April LHRW newsletter.  : )   You know what is sad?  I was actually going to vote for you.  I do believe I signed you petition, but you have lost my vote and my respect.

Kelli Ward – I again hate those that only want to get involved AFTER they decide to run for office.  But whatever – that’s politics.  What are you going do?  So Mrs. Ward – you know she used to be my doctor along with my husband’s doctor.  I never met her though.  She had her own practice but apparently never actually practiced there – or so it seemed.  So is she going to run the state of Arizona like she did her practice?  Be there in name only?  Sorry – I can’t vote for someone who in my opinion is unreliable not to mention not a very good doctor.

Sam Scarmardo – I DO NOT like the fact Ron Gould endorses him!  In fact, I am afraid he may just be another Ron Gould!  However he has ALWAYS been involved in the party and in politics.  I have met him and I do think he listens to the people.  He actually reminds me of what Gould USE to be.  I actually liked Ron Gould back in the day until he let politics take over his brain cells.  Gould actually use to be an okay guy, and that’s who Sam reminds me of.  The “old” Gould who use to care about the people and not put ‘politics’ and self-greed before taking care of his constituents.  For that reason – I do think I’m going to vote for Sam.

So who to vote for?  Sam Scarmardo – I do think it’s time to show some appreciation to those who have dedicated their life to the Republican Party not just to someone who all of a sudden decides NOW that they care.

Elections 2012 – who will you vote for?

I Stand Corrected

Posted by on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, @, 6, pm in Politics | 0 comments

The Today’s News Herald did run a story regarding Representative Goodale and her family’s heroin situation.   Glad to know my blog is being read!  : )

I do stand corrected – I have to say although I do feel the TNH doesn’t post a lot of stuff that maybe it should, I will say this: it doesn’t post the garbage and bullshit that the Kingman Daily Miner posts.  The KDM seems to be filled with rumors and hearsay and yes maybe the news is dramatic and does grab your attention but the KDM is becoming a gossip column and more of those ‘blogs’ all the politicians tend to hate.  A newspaper is NOT a blog and should not be treated like one.  The TNH posts actual news and not gossip drama.  So I take back what I said the TNH does NOT suck!   It’s just more ‘politically correct’ than the rest of them.

How Can You Not Know Your Own Son Is On Heroin?

Posted by on Monday, May 28, 2012, @, 2, pm in Politics | 2 comments

First off, the Today’s News Herald sucks!  They don’t post ANY of the juicy, gossip the Kingman Daily Miner does (sometimes that’s a good thing but in this case it is not!).  An article in Sunday’s edition of the miner stated that Doris Goodale’s children were arrest for heroin trafficking in Dori and her husband’s home!

Representative Goodale said “she was aware her daughter had developed an addiction to pain medication in the past but said neither she nor her husband had any idea that either of their children were involved with heroin – or that drug deals were allegedly taking place in their homes.”

How can you NOT know your own son and daughter are drugged out on heroin?!  I’m sorry but you’re an idiot if you can’t see that your own children are on drugs!  It’s NOT that hard to tell!  Not to mention it was happening in your own home!!  To all those who are saying “this is a personal matter” and to give the Goodale’s a break – I say hell no!

If you can’t tell your own children are on drugs, and you can’t pay that much attention to your own kids – there is no way in hell I am going to trust you with paying attention to what’s important to Mohave County.  Take some time and focus on your family Doris because honestly only an idiot doesn’t realize their own kids are drugged out on heroin and selling it in YOUR own home UNDER your nose!

SB1433 – Goodale’s Ignorant Comments

Posted by on Friday, Apr 27, 2012, @, 6, pm in Politics | 2 comments

Get Microsoft Silverlight

Here is the video of Representative Goodale’s uncalled for comments in regards to SB1433 and Colorado City.

For the record: A “different lifestyle” does not include polygamy, child abuse, and entrapment which are all against the law and all of which is going on in the town of Colorado City.

To clarify Goodale’s opening remarks.  Polygamy IS against the law!  Our Arizona Constitution: Article 20 Section 2 states:

Polygamous or plural marriages, or polygamous co-habitation, are forever prohibited within this state.

SB1433 would have allowed our County Sheriff’s office to take over a town that is run by a corrupt police department. The police officers who have been decertified by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (AZPOST) Board, which is more than half the average number of officers in Colorado City, have been decertified because they are also wardens of the church. These officers harass anyone who enters the town as an outsider, they are involved in the cover up of crimes such as polygamy and child abuse, and they follow the law of the Prophet not the law of the land. SB1433 would have put a stop to the corrupt doings of the Colorado City Police Department. It would have allowed for actual law and justice in a city that hasn’t seen that in over 60 years.

Arizona Legislatures Go Againist The Innocent

Posted by on Thursday, Apr 26, 2012, @, 6, pm in Politics | 0 comments

Yesterday the Arizona House of Representatives voted down SB1433 which would have allowed Mohave County officials to abolish the police department in Colorado City, Arizona.  SB1433 would have been a blessing to those living within the constraints of a polygamist sect in the Northern Part of Mohave County.   The bill would have allowed a shutdown of a municipal police force whenever more than half of the average number of officers has been decertified over a period of time.  Colorado City would have met that criteria.  The bill however was voted down 28-25 with our own Mohave County Representatives, Doris Goodale and Nancy McLain, voting against the bill.

I remember first hearing about Colorado City and the polygamist sect that ran it back in 2005.  I was seventeen years old and had never in my life heard of such a thing.  I was shocked and in complete awe that in our own County we were allowing this to go on.  We were allowing young girls as young as 13 to be married off to someone three times their age.  Politicians, aside from Mohave County Supervisor Buster Johnson and a few others, were afraid to go after what in my mind was completely wrong.  Last time I checked it was illegal for 13 and 15 year olds to be forced into marriage with a 40 year old.  I also thought it was illegal for a 40 year olds to rape a 15 year old and impregnate her.  Am I wrong in my thinking?

The polygamist lifestyle that has gone on in Colorado City and its neighboring town of Hilldale, Utah has been going on for over 60 years.  They are both isolated communities and do not like outside visitors.  They live a lifestyle completely different from ours.  Representative Goodale said during the SB1433 hearing yesterday that Colorado City is a “different type of community.”  Goodale said the measure unjustifiably goes after a community where no wrongs have been committed. She called on lawmakers to “not pay any attention to the disingenuous comments about these families being harems” in the memo Attorney General Tom Horne distributed , and said the people of Colorado City are “normal citizens” who “simply [practice] an alternate lifestyle which we may not choose , but which they have chosen for the past 100 years or so.”

Out of everyone, I am completely for “different lifestyles.”  We all know I support lifestyles not many Republicans tend to agree with me on, but this is not one I support and not one anyone should support.  I supposed the argument would be different if it was 40 year olds marrying 30 year olds.   If some 30 year old woman wants to share a 40 year old husband with 10 other 30 year old women, then be my guest.  The problem is and always will be that it’s not 40 year old men taking in 30 year old wives.  Its 40 year olds taking in wives as young as 13.  It’s 13 to 16 year old girls being forced to marry their 40 to 85 year old cousin.  It’s forcing a girl who doesn’t even know what love is into marriage before she even has the chance to experience puberty.

The sad part is that the people of Colorado City believe it is God’s wishes to marry off their 13-16 year old daughters to 40-85 year old men.  They are taught that the more wives a man has the higher his plain in Heaven is.  Most of these men are “spiritually married” to 18 or more women.  This type of “community” has been going on long before Warren Jeffs took over as profit and leader in 2002 and will continue to go on for many more years unless something is done.  These innocent women, children and even young adult males have no idea there is life beyond what they have grown up to know and believe.    They don’t have TV, they aren’t allowed internet access, and any form of technology is forbidden.

I was glad when Warren Jeffs was finally arrested and eventually sentenced to life in prison; however for one to think the arrest of Warren Jeffs means the end of the polygamist lifestyle in Colorado City makes that person completely ignorant to what is going on in Mohave County.

I am just awed that SB1433 was turned down and completely just amazed at Representative Goodale’s comments in opposing SB1433!!  I know one thing for sure – Neither McLain or Goodale will be receiving my vote during the August or November election!  I’ll vote for no one before I vote for the likes of you two ever again!

Putting politics and votes – because that’s exactly what you both did – before innocent children is wrong on ALL levels.  To honestly believe that getting rid of Warren Jeffs solved everything and to honestly believe that no wrong doing is being done in Colorado City makes you both in my opinion just as guilty as former Governor Janet Napolitano who also turned a blind eye to what was going on in the Northern Part of our County back when she was Governor.  My only logical reasoning is that it’s election time and you want the votes from those up in Colorado City.  Because any smart, intelligent, person with some sort of moral compass can see that SB1433 would have been a great bill and that there are indeed still problems in Colorado City.
