Randomness Before Bed

Posted by on Thursday, May 17, 2012, @, 10, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

Sometimes its best not to ask but a conversation came up today (a conversation I had with myself by the way while reading through others blogs on my Google Reader feed) about me and giving birth.  No I am not pregnant (but I swear 95% of my blogger feed friends have either had babies or are pregnant).  Anyway, I have decided (actually I decided this a long time ago) that when I am giving birth it’ll be live feed on the internet for ALL to see!  It’s what I WANT!  If I have to carry the child and go through hours and hours of labor SOMEBODY OUT THERE is holding that video camera!!  Hehe!  But yeah … just a random FYI for you all.

Anyway I went shopping today at the store to get last minute Party stuff.  Wow hold up – I don’t think I have even mentioned on this here blog that we are throwing a “house warming” party this weekend.  Huh?  Well WE ARE!!  So I went today and got some last minute stuff.  It’s not easy to shop for a party on a budget (a very tight budget that is) but it was doable.

So Adam Lambert was on American Idol tonight!!  Ahhh!  Amazing!  I love that guy!

I am not sure about the top 2.  Phillip is good but Josh in my opinion was better.  I thought it’d be Josh and Jessica or Josh and Phillip not Jessica and Phillip.  I don’t know who’s going to win.  It’s anybody’s game.  A girl hasn’t won in YEARS but Jessica is only 16 so maybe people will want Phillip to win.

Alright I’m tired.  Gonna go lay down a bit early.

I Love The Way You Lie …

“She still hates me.” – S

“Yeah I figured as much.  You know how it works though people either love us or they hate us.  There is no in between.” – J

“Yeah but she hates me because I kissed a girl and liked it.  Her reasoning is kind of petty if you ask me.” – S

“Oh come on we all know back in the day she kissed a girl and liked it too.  It was just back in her day admitting to liking it would have meant the end to her picture perfect social life.  She’s just jealous because it’s the year 2012 and you had the nerve to kiss a girl and like it publicly where as she will never know what that feels like.” – J

————-

So I am officially the Treasurer for the Women’s Club.  I guess some people are having a fit over it.  I know – the x lesbian turned straight (I actually prefer to be called bisexual over straight but for the purpose of my point I’ll go with straight) – is in charge of the clubs money!  Oh no!  What a crime!  Haha!  Oooo … some people really have NOTHING better to do with their lives then devote time to hating me?  I find it rather funny.  I mean what did I ever do to you besides try and shake up the establish and bring homosexuality to the Republican party?  ::shrugs::  Ahhh oh well!  I’ll sit back with my popcorn and laugh at the comedy you bring to my life.  : )  Anyway I’m happy to be the Treasurer.  Never done it before so should be interesting.  Can’t be that hard.  Right?

Anyway, so I am in the works of getting a new layout for the website up.  I am hoping to get it up Friday!  I know I said this LAST week but I really am serious!  It’s going to be somewhat different yet somewhat the same.  I want to focus on three areas for the site – the blog, the web design and the stories.  Hopefully it all comes together so I can reveal the new layout to you all!

Anyway so they found out what was wrong with Debbie.  She finally went to the doctor today.  Cory is staying over with her tonight to keep an eye on her.  She got some meds.  With the help of them it should fix the problem.  Hopefully!

Anyway I LOVED that song Colton sang on Idol tonight!  I loved the song when I heard Rihanna sing it but she did a rap version of it.  So I have to say I love Skylar Gray’s version 1000x better!  I just love it!

I am hoping Colton wins or at least gets 2nd place! I really like him and I know he’d be a CD I’d buy! It’s like Daughtry – I LOVE Daughtry! Any CD they put out I LOVE IT and I think Colton would be the same way.

Well I am tired. So I am heading to bed!

I Don’t Particularly Like Wordless Wednesday

Posted by on Wednesday, Feb 29, 2012, @, 8, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

I love taking pictures don’t get me wrong but to be forced to snap pictures of EVERY Wednesday of my day as it goes along is not something that interests me.  If I find something along the way I feel needs to be pictured – then I will.  But until further notice, I don’t think I am going to participate in Wordless Wednesday much anymore.  I like to write.  I love photography don’t get me wrong and I love documenting my life via photos but it’s kind of like the “30 Days in the Life of Sarah” project I tried to accomplish in 2009 and 2010.  I love taking Vlogs but to be forced to do so for 30 days, every day, every minute, every hour … ahhh!  Get the point?

Anyway so I feel I need to write more.  I need to rant, rave, get my thoughts out there and stop sitting in my head so much.  It usually gets me in trouble.

So Cory and I are HOPING, PRAYING, HOPING, …. Did I say hoping already? … to MOVE the first of April!  We found this CUTE CUTE CUTE Duplex on the North Side of Havasu we want to move into.  The guy wants it rented by the 15th of March which is something we cannot do, but April 1st would be dueable.   I won’t speak for Cory (he has his own blog he never updates for that) but I HATE where we live!  I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!

Why?  Why do I hate it?

Let me tell you

  1. Dish washer doesn’t work
  2. Freezer is too cold (yes it is really too cold and the thermometer doesn’t work)
  3. Police are there 24/7 it seems!
  4. No washer and dryer
  5. Kids kids kids!!  People seriously don’t watch their kids now a days do they?  What happened to family dinner time!?  Gess!  These neighborhood kids run a mock ALL DAY and into the night long!  Ahhhh!  I <3 kids (I think) don’t get me wrong but … parents NEED to pay more attention to their kids!
  6. It’s too far away from Walmart (I NEED to be closer to Walmart)
  7. They take FOREVER to fix ANYTHING!!  Took them like 2 months to fix our stove and six months to fix our drawers in the kitchen and dish washer STILL NOT FIXED!!

I could go on … but … I won’t!

So anyway — pray for us that we get this new place please!!!!!!

It’s REALLY cute!!!   Well from the pictures and virtual tour we saw!  We haven’t actually been to it yet.  Hehe!

So Cory and I met the parents and Grandma at Ihop yesterday for FREE pancakes!  I get that they are FREE but … does it REALLY take 45 minutes to make pancakes?  Eh, whatever!  We ordered extras – like Mem and I got sausage and Cory and I split hash browns.  It was yummy!  Oh and as we were leaving our table won a raffle for a free appetizer!  Yum!  The parents got a free coupon for signing up for something so Cory and I got the raffle coupon.  We have till April something to use it!

So I have to say I actually am glad I stopped doing Idol Commentary.  I actually enjoy American Idol more now because I am not forced to hold a camera up and record every single minute of it and do commentary on it.  Yes, I enjoy it more!  With that said – my two favs from the top 12 (oh I mean 13) boys from last night are Reed and Phil Phillips!  I thought they’d bring back the 17 year old Michael Jackson look-a-like who really looks like he’s 12 but instead they brought back the Genital Giant.  :shrugs:  He’s okay but I agree with Cory – he’d do better singing opera or something like that.

Anyway I got nothing else to rant and rave about!

So until next time,

American Idol Commentary – San Diego & I’m Saying Good Bye

Posted by on Sunday, Jan 29, 2012, @, 4, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

I think there comes a point where you have to say goodbye.

I’m just not into Idol Commentary anymore. I figured I’d give it a try this season, but I just don’t have the heart for it anymore. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll still sit down every week and watch Idol and MAYBE blog about it, but to sit here and do commentary on each and every show is just not something I enjoy anymore.

Maybe it was a “Brooke and me” thing and trying to do it solo is just not fun. It seems more like a chore than something I actually enjoy doing and that’s not how it should be.

So this is my last Commentary post. Sorry guys! My heart is just not in it this year.

Sarah
———————
Joining us today for Commentary is Spiky – the Guinea Pig!

So we have had many from San Diego actually make a name for themselves like Adam Lambert! Hehe! But as usual – San Diego does not disappoint.

So first up we had “The Patriot” girl in the bathing suit/short short outfit. Very strange … !! The male judges of course liked her but could she sing? Eh, not really! She didn’t have the power in her voice on either of the two songs she sang. So it was a no for the “Patriot” girl.

So before we go any further I have to ask – what is up with Steven Tyler’s outfit? Lol! I get they are holding their auditions on a boat setting but still … very strange! He always wears the strangest of clothes. Lol!

Anyway next up we had Ashley Robles. She was a great singer in my opinion. She is just so cute and her daughter is adorable. Her voice was strong and amazing – that’s really all there is to say.

As for the next guy named Jerah, well he needed a “plan B.” Lol! I didn’t really care for him. The judges put him through though so I guess I don’t know what good music is. Haha!

Oh back to Steven Tyler’s look … does he have pink in his hair? : /

So Allie was told to go on American Idol from Ellen? Hmm, well we’ll call her the “new girl” since she never really sang in front of anyone until about a year ago. So I liked her until she started rapping. I think she should have stuck to actually singing. Lol! I didn’t care for the rap thing. I’m glad the judges gave her the opportunity to actually sing a song instead of rap. Her voice is unique. A little different but she got put through.

So Day 2 in San Diego started with Kyle Cruise the “Lady’s Man.” He was a good singer. I have to be honest, I didn’t think he would be a good singer. Lol! I think he surprised everyone.

So I don’t think they will be holding auditions on the back of an aircraft carrier again. Lol!

Oh next up was Jim Carrey’s daughter, Jane. At first I thought she looked like Haley from One Tree Hill and then she said she was Jim Carrey’s daughter and I’m like “What?” She has a famous dad. Can’t he get his daughter a record contract? Lol! I didn’t think she was THAT great! But she got sent through.

So the last contest for the day was Jason. Also known as “wolf.” He was alright!

American Idol Commentary – Aspen, Colorado

Posted by on Wednesday, Jan 25, 2012, @, 6, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

So I know I have yet to actually write up commentary on the San Diego auditions but I joined my parents for commentary yesterday. It’s auditions so I do feel I am entitled to go out of order at least once. I will get caught up with San Diego this weekend. I PROMISE!

In the meantime though, enjoy commentary from yesterday’s show with special guest – My Parents!!

Alright first up we have the girl who sang Heartbreaker. She is an Elementary music school teacher. The judges liked it for some odd strange but I didn’t think she could carry a tune at all. Lol! I guess they will put anybody through.

Next up was Curtis Gray. I thought he was pretty good and the judges agreed with me for once. Haha!

Richie – another Josh Turner just like Scotty. Lol!

Stevie and Tealana are supposed to be twins but I didn’t think that they looked like twins. Lol! Anyway she was horrible. I kind of felt sorry for her though. The judges were all whispering about her behind her back and I do think she actually thought she could sing. Wow! But … NO!!!

Next we have a vegetarian working in the meat department, also known as Haley. I kind of have mixed emotions about her. She was good to an extent but maybe just not the style I personally like. Eh, I don’t know! But the judges sent her through! So we’ll see. Maybe she’ll surprise us.

Kind of disappointed that Alana couldn’t sing. She was cute. Next up though was Shelby. She had a pretty amazing story, plus she was cute and sang Carrie Underwood. Hopefully she’s 18 by now cause she would totally be my pic on the girl side. Both looks wise and singing wise.

The Jairon guy who wrote his own song was pretty good. The fact he wrote the song himself is a plus too.

They had some pretty awful singers in Aspen. Lol! More than the other auditions.

So they saved the … worse for last this time. This guy was horrible, looked funny and was sadly from the town I was born from, Davenport, Iowa. I mean THIS is what Davenport, Iowa puts out! Oya! It’s an embarrassment. And what kind of name is “Magic Cyclops?” He was just weird! Oh and I lived right across the boarder frpm Iowa. There is no Iowa ascent. Lol!

My final thoughts – from what they showed, Aspen didn’t have the best talent.

American Idol Commentary – Pittsburgh Auditions

Posted by on Tuesday, Jan 24, 2012, @, 10, am in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

Welcome to day 2 of American Idol Season 11 auditions! I am having technical difficulties today so bare with me. Most of this commentary will be text associated with pictures. My own video and audio will return with the San Diego Auditions. The video for this post will be stuff I stole from Youtube! Sorry folks! Good thing SAPA didn’t pass! Haha!

So do you all remember William Hung?

Well I think we may have a William Hung #2! I have to admit he’s a good singer. A little odd and off but he really did have a beautiful voice.

Next up we had Reed not sure what to think of him. He is good but I want to hear him sing something different then the Family Matters theme but he was good.

They sent a lot of people through during the first 15 minutes.
Lol! I guess the judges were right when they said Pittsburgh was gonna have talent.

I liked the Creation guys. He was a little weird and not sure he could really sing but it was interesting.

Are we sure the age requirement is 15? Cause I’m sorry this kid looks 12!!! He really is the Justin Bebier look a like. Lol! But he acted very mature for his age and he was a good singer. I don’t know I may just have to say he was the winner for the night on the guy side.

I loved Travis back story. I agree he needs more practice. His voice isn’t strong enough but I’m sorry on his back story alone I’d put him through. So I’m glad he got a golden ticket.

I just wanna stay before I continue and that is congrats to the coal miner because I could never do it! Lol The mining part

Alright they ways save the best for last – it is Idol tradition!! The last person is usually the best singer and has the most amazing back story! Just take a look for yourself – video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

So I was going to have this posted yesterday but we had some “personal” matters at home to do with. I’ll write about it all later. Not sure when I’ll get San Diego up. But I promise by the weekend both San Diego and this weeks will be up. Promise!

May the best Idol win!

My Failed Weekend of Chores

Posted by on Monday, Jan 23, 2012, @, 4, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

So I’m way behind on Idol Commentary!  I was going to do it this weekend and then I lost my motivation to do so.  I promise promise to get caught up!  In fact going home to watch San Diego Auditions when I get off work (already have half of Pittsburgh wrote just need to finish it).

Yesterday I did manage to clean the kitchen and do laundry.  : )  I attempted to dust but stopped half way through (maybe I’ll finish that tonight too).

I hate starting and not finishing things.  Seems to be the story of my life.

Case in point:

  • Affair Of the Mind (I WILL FINISH IT!!)
  • Riddler Rewrite & Part 3
  • The Kradam fan fic I was working on (come on u remember right?)
  • Video blogging twice a month (I guess January is not over yet!  Does giving my dog a bath and video taping it count?  Lol!)

Ahhh!  I better get to going on this Idol Commentary!

Oooooo on the bright side though I DID manage to change my website layout & create a client a new logo!  haha!  I guess the weekend wasn’t that much of a failure on chores after all!

Laterz,

American Idol Commentary – Savannah Georgia Auditions

Posted by on Friday, Jan 20, 2012, @, 9, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

Hello & Welcome to the Official American Idol Commentary from the one and only!  I have done this every year since 2009.  As tradition has gone for the past 2 years, I always start the Commentary off with a performance from my favorite American Idol of all time (even though he didn’t win) Adam Lambert!  He just happened to be on Ellen the other day!  So before we begin official commentary, take a moment and enjoy the amazing Adam Lambert!

Now that we have that out of the way, welcome to my commentary! This year is a bit different. It’ll be part video part text! Enjoy!

So I have to say first and foremost you ALWAYS know who’s going to make it through simply because they do a back story on that person! Lol!

Anyway the first contestant up was someone I am calling the 12 year old.

But he was a good singer!

Ok does anybody know what is up with Steven’s hat?

One unforgettable moment of the show was Ryan’s twin!! and of course the brother who never really auditioned in the first place but still made it through to Hollywood!

My two favorite of the night were 1) the girl who lived in a tent because I think her back story was amazing!
and 2) the last guy! He had an awesome story and was really good

See ya all tomorrow for the Pittsburgh auditions!

Ps – I did this commentary with my Iphone 4s!  I love the Iphone 4s video camera but it just doesn’t work good for commentary!  Sorry about the black boxes around the video.  I’ll be returning to my actual video camera tomorrow so you shouldn’t see boxes anymore.

Coke & Love – v.3

Posted by on Thursday, Jan 19, 2012, @, 8, pm in Sarahs Rants | 0 comments

It’s Coke & Love time again. It’s based off of Wine and Love hosted by Nora! But because I really don’t like wine – I am calling it “Coke & Love” because I am addicted to Diet Coke. It’s where you share your weekly wines (or beer, liquor, soda- whatever your beverage preference is) and then your loves since last Thursday.

If you want to participate in Wine and Love (or whatever else you feel like calling it) you can link up to the series on Nora’s site.

Things Making Me Reach For My Bottle of Diet Coke …

The weather!!  It has been extra cold it seems this week.  I want my warm weather back!  I found all these cute summer/spring clothes while cleaning out Debbie’s house the other day and granted I am wearing them with sweaters and whatnot but they’d look SO much cuter without the jackets/sweaters!!

So I am trying to have a new outlook on things.  My raise that was supposed to go through on tomorrow’s check won’t get put on until next pay check.  There was a “technical/paper work” glitch we’ll say.  So anyway I’ll get the $$ I was supposed to get this pay check on the next one because of it.  So we have to put off the dog’s doctor appointment until the 6th because we just can’t afford it without that raise.  I could get all pissed off about it but I have decided not too.  Life happens.  I’ll have the extra $$ next check for the dog.  It’s ok.  Nothing I can do about it.  So although this is a ‘wine’ I am trying not to get too worked up over it.  Like I said – life happens!

Things That I’m Loving This Week …

American Idol started this week!  I haven’t watched it yet.  It’s still sitting in my DVR but I will!!  But the point is that it started to Idol Commentary shall return!

Blogging & my website!  I started work on the Forgotten Reviews post I intend to release in April to the new members only section of my site!!  : )

I got some new stuff but only because Brooke turned over all her stuff to Debbie when she left (I will be nice and give her mom some of the stuff I feel is ‘personal’ and should be returned).  Dusty & Tina are coming the first week in February so we cleaned out Brooke’s room & the rest of the house.  Debbie found some cute PJs to give me.  A little baggy but they are comfy.

Adam Lambert was on Jay Leno & Ellen this week!  Ahhh!  I <3!!

It was a 4 day work week this week due to Martin Luther King Jr day!!  4 day work weeks are always a plus!

My boss announced his bid for re-election!  That’s always a good thing because if he wins – I still have a job!!  So let’s make sure he wins!  Go District 3 Supervisor!  : )

What are your wines and loves of the week?

Today Was A Good Day

Posted by on Wednesday, Jan 19, 2011, @, 9, pm in Political Rants, Sarah's Blog, Sarahs Rants | 1 comment

Dear Diary:

Today was the first day in a long time I woke up and said “today, I’m ganna be okay.” And it was a good day.

No real reason why.  Nothing special happened.  I just woke up with hope.  Work was fine.  People really need to update their phone number on their voter registration though.  Lol!  I even got into political blogging again.  After work I had a good talk with Cory, ate din din, and Char came over.  We did our Idol Contest, watched Pretty Little Liars (LOVE THAT SHOW!) and then of course Idol Commentary.  I wasn’t sure if I’d like J-Lo and Steven Tyler but ya know what they are actually pretty fun to watch.  Steven with his fake ass teeth and J-Lo with her big boobs!  Lol!  No one really caught my eye on the auditions tonight.  The 16 year old sweet pretty pink girl who said “yo yo dog” to Randy was my fav but no one really stuck out to me.  Oh well – there’s always tomorrow.  Lol!

Anyway, today was a good day.  The first of many more to come.  Life is okay.
